yes it will..did u see what we got for Pomer??..not sure how Darcy does it but he always manages to ripoff teams in trades..and that kind of return for Miller is very possible, I was being generous - French-Connection
Pominville was an aging goalie?
Minny's GM is a nut case. Still wondering how he wasn't fired yet. |

Ok. If we can get the Blackhawks first we will trade you that first, Omark and Eager for him. |

I'm not saying Dubnyk is great, but he's low priority to upgrade imo. You may believe that teams need to build around a #1 goaltender, but I feel like he's good enough to worry about other things for now.
Again, the suggestion to concentrate on upgrading goaltending because of a softie let in a 6-0 loss or a 6-goal period seems like a misdiagnosis to me. - Morris
I'm just looking at this objectively. As an Oilers fan I like Dubnyk, but I see games where he is not the single reason we lost, but a very major factor in that.
Did you ever consider the reason we lose by such large scores is because of the goalie? Your counter argument may be that a shutout means the player played poorly, which could be true, but there is a sense of lost hope in the players when your goalie lets in that many goals. |

Dubnyk's not doing a poor job just because he can't keep the team's spirits up in games where they're barely mustering 20 shots and allowing 35 (like every game).
It's misplaced aggression to blame Dubnyk for letting in 3 goals when facing 35 shots. Many you feel like the team will never have the confidence they need without an above average, possibily elite goalie that will night in night out put the team on its back but A) I don't think we need that and B) I think we'd go a lot further improving the roster such that we don't need an elite goalie.
If we reach the point where we're allowing 28 shots a night, out-shooting the other team, and losing, then its time to improve goaltending. But the defense sucks, the possession numbers suck, and the effort/maturity sucks, and getting an elite goalie to inspire players doesn't seem like a prudent way to address those problems. |

The reason we lose is because we never have the puck and the other team is always shooting it at our net. When we get the puck, we never get it on their net. If you play like this, getting scored on is inevitable. |

imagine if this team they're building somehow is still struggling in like 3 years from now to get in??..honestly if they dont get in this year I will be shocked - French-Connection
Eventually they'll not be able to afford their roster, so it will have to be blown up within 3 years if they dont get the coaching that they need...I pray McDavid stays east though...please for the love of god let it be New Jersey |

If they don't make it this year, they will have to rethink the "untouchable list". The scary thing is that it's going to be hard to get in. A lot of good teams to pass. |

I dont think it was "that much" at all. Pominville is severely undervalued by a lot of people.
1st rounder, 2nd rounder and mid-level prospect is pretty good value for a consistent top 6 RW who averages 25G and 65P in a full season and plays in all situations.
I think the added 4th round pick, and retained salary is what landed us Hackett who was a mid 3rd rounder himself and Minny had a couple solid goalie prospects to make him expendable. |

If they don't get in this year, get McDavid...he WILL fix your problems, I'd trade Nuge straight up for McDavid...I'd start being wary of Nuge being injured in years to come, we'll have to wait and see I suppose on that one |

a 1st rounder I would have been happy, he was like the worst captain in our history |
