If he is so great at winning trades then why doesn't your team keep winning? I mean obviously he is great at drafting as well. - Marshalle
well this scenario speaks volumes about him as a GM, we are in a position here where we are losing value for Miller cause he waited to long to try and pull the trigger..overall Darcy has made some great deals..another example, I want to see if this Hodgson RFA thing gets resolved, cause so far its at a standstill and really it shouldn't be..get him signed already |

Gillis is a prime example of trades (other than the Ballard trade) he got booth for garbage, got ehrhoff for a guy playing overseas...Roy for very little...but his drafting so far has yet to pan out, his contracts...well his contracts...speak for themselves (luongo) a guy can be good at trades, and terrible at everything else to keep a team from seriously competing... |

There may not have been a good deal to be made. If the best deal is a bad deal by your standards then would you have been happy with a trade? |

Obviously this is coming from a Canucks fan but what exactly has Schneider done to warrant all of this love? He has yet to prove he can be the work horse Miller is. Granted he has a huge upside but I never understood all the love for him. Miller gets more than Hemsky and like I said before there is no way Miller straight up for Hemsky makes sense for the Sabres at all - Stripes77
Agreed.
They are both overpaid but Miller is a proven commodity.
Hemsky is barely hanging on this league...he's too soft and will be playing in Europe soon enough. There is no doubt to his skill level but he's not cut out for the NHL game. |

So you don't take the team in front of these goalies as factors? Lets face it Millers even strength save percentage is the same as your beloved Schnieder with a crappy Sabres team in front of him. You obviously don't understand other factors besides simple stats which can easily be over judged. Schnieder on a bad New Jersey team is not nearly as good as Schneider on a stacked Canucks team. - Stripes77

So according to Ek Andersson doesn't get consideration for the USA starting role?
I'd say if anyone can give Quick a run it's Andersson |

Well we'll see about that...are you forgetting that the devils went to the finals the year before last? yes they have lost a poop ton in the past 2 years but none the less...Parise shouldnt have made such a difference...coachings going to play a big role in to it now...so many odd things have happened in that division i dont know how things will play out honestly...and just because you havent seen schneider play enough, you dont have to act like miller is the best goaltender in the league, he never has been... |

I see a Vanek for Statsny trade in Buffalo's future as well. Colorado would have to include another piece to complete the trade. |

He has do do well and prove himself as a consistent netminder this year. Before last year, Anderson was quite average if not slightly below the mean. |

BUF fans seem to overvalue miller, hes an amazing goalie but think about this... hes going to leave Buf after next year, and then the sabres get nothing in return, i think that hemsky and a 2nd or even 3rd is fair, but hemsky a 1st AND a prospect or another nhl ready player??!! thats too much for a goalie whos going to test UFA the second he has a chance. - digitalbath
Agreed---Oil can't give a first. I don't see this happening as Miller would probably want to stay in the East, at least, and go to a team with a better D-core to help pump his #s this year. |

If he can stay healthy maybe...that wasn't his strong suit last year...its only a 2 week tournament, they may be looking for someone who has been able to play a boat load of games...its better to rely on a guy that you know will be there...its even possible they are waiting to see if he'll be fully healthy before adding him late... |

That would be completely pointless. The whole point in bringing in stastny would have been to have him play with Vanek. At this point I'd rather Hodgson than 1 year of Stastny at 6.6 mil.
Colorado's main focus should be on defense anyways, adding Vanek doesn't really address their key issues. |

I would love to see Vanek in the west...he'll be on the IR so often he'd be useless... |

2 years ago and who is no longer Parise Clarkson Kovi. That's a huge loss right there. Their 3 highest point producers.
And I don't think miller is the greatest. Never even close to saying that but saying Miller for Hemsky straight up is outrageous. Miller is an above average goalie on a terrible team. He gets hung out to dry more than my wives unmentionables. Miller on your Canuck team beats Boston in the finals IMO |

Almost every single report that's ever been published about him and trade rumours mentions his desire to got out west (in a perfect world California).
That being said, I still don't see Miller to the Oilers happening. |

Maybe colorado wants miller...Stastny for Miller...at the very least they'd get more out of Stastny than they would of Hemsky...Colorado isn't rock solid in goal either...maybe add Varlomov |

You hate Buffalo for suggesting they want Hemsky... - jochfr
More like he hates the Oilers for suggesting they want that man-child, Miller. |
