Highly doubt that. - Yeti1181
Oilers had a worse defense, and Dubnyk had better numbers than Miller. So it's true. |

Frank you! Miller is God! He is worth Hall + Eberle + Yakupov + RNH... probably even Omark!
Bow before him infidel!! |

You forgot to finish your proposal, Hemsky and Gagner for Miller, Ott and Myers. - Dangles13
Hemsky is not worth more than a 2nd round pick. Miller is worth more than a 2nd round pick. It's not even worth a debate. Goodnight. |

Just one of Greening or Kulemin would make me pretty happy.
Joensuu might be something. He'll probably just be a third liner at best. But that's all Bickell really is when he doesn't have Toews or Kane with him. - Jack-artist
I think that's what we need. Instead of chasing self-made men like Horton or holding out for acquiring Lucic or Backes, they need to pursue lesser players who have great chemistry with the core guys we already have. I was hoping Eager and Jones could have played spot top 6 minutes in a space clearing role, but perhaps Joensuu, Greening if we could get him, maybe even Khaira or (Ryan) Hamilton one day could help us roll three even lines. |

If he was worth more, he'd be gone by now. Teams need top 6 talent so there's a good reason why teams aren't falling over themselves.
Miller is a legit #1 and can help a team get over the hump like perhaps the caps or blues. He's not the right fit for the Oilers today. They're not ready and by the time they are Duby might be ready himself. |

My sources tell me that Miller has actually accepted a trade to Edmonton contingent upon two conditions...
1. A 30' bronze statue of his likeness be built on top of Gretz
2. A controlling interest in all current and future Fleshlight business endeavors...

Is he really? Goalies have Richard all for trade value. Halak came off like the best playoff performance you could hope for and got 2 plugs. No one offers up stupid value like Toronto did. The fact that the Canucks got what they did for Schneider was a surprise.
The real issue with the "trade" is that Hemsky does nothing for the Sabres and Miller doesn't do a whole heck of a lot besides kind of (frank) the Oilers at contract time in net. They're value isn't far off but the teams just aren't really fits |

Why do people even debate this? Devan Dubnyk vs. Ryan Miller is no contest. This is the reason that I think this rumour is false...or if it is true, Miller would not likely accept the trade to live in EDM (even though BUF is no Babylon either).
Horcoff problem = solved.
Improve the D problem = solved..somewhat.
top pair D-man problem = still not solved.
#1 goaltender problem = still not solved.
I also think people are putting too much emphasis on the "bottom 6". Just get guys who care and compete every night and it should be okay.

Just because Miller is better doesn't mean that we should drop everything and go acquire him. For Hemsky straight up, sure, but I'm not giving 1sts up for some brat whose going to undermine any attempts we've made at a culture change and then walk.
The debate isn't about Dubnyk and Miller. It's about whether it's prudent to acquire Miller if the cost is much beyond Hemsky. It's not prudent. |

Why would a team with "no bottom six players" trade a fringe top 6 guy for a goalie?
Making moves just for the sake of making moves?... ask brian burke how that turned out
I Think ottawa got a 7th round pick for kovavlev at deadline day
I cant see hemsky fetching a much more than that.
