I still wonder if Alex Nedeljkovic will get a shot, he is currently representing the USA in the Ivan Hlinka tournament. Even though they lost today 3 - 2 to Finland.
Not sure if he'll also play tomorrow against Russia. |

Emery I thought he was playing well before he got hurt. I think the cup turns out differently if he was playing. |

So he'd be an underager? I could see them doing that, i mean Campbell was i think. But still if he can somehow nail the London #1 job and does well, i think he's a lock for starter. Of course lots of things have to go right for that to happen (crossing fingers). |

I respect your point of view. Sure everything isn't black and white. Saying which would you rather have a team who wins a cup and then sucks for 10 years is dealing in a extreme hypotheticals. That very rarely happens.
Making the playoffs often means something, because to reach the ultimate goal that is step one.
Fans can enjoy rooting for their team any way they like. It's the right of any fan. If someone enjoys just making the playoffs and not reaching the pinnacle, that is fine by me. I'm not going to force my opinion down anyone's throat. - PLindbergh31
definitely just an extreme hypothetical. and of course winning it all is a huge deal. that is definitely in the end what it's all about
i just feel like the whole "nothing matters except a cup/championship" mentality arises when people are too concerned about naysayers/ outsiders. it's tough to defend a successful yet non-championship season against poop-talking fans of other teams, and i think that skews people's opinions toward the negative end of the spectrum
but that doesn't mean that regular old winning doesn't matter. i don't hope the flyers win just so i can shutup the haters. i hope they win because i love watching hockey and they are the team i've always rooted for. and i get a little bit of enjoyment out of every win
i.e. ... there's no way i can say that these past 2 or 3 years haven't been much more enjoyable for rangers fans (compared to us). that might not mean everything, but it certainly means something |

I think he has a chance to be at worst the 3rd goalie, Plymouth in the OHL still will have a decent team for the upcoming season. He did well as a rookie last season.

I do like the chances of Stolarz to make the USA WJC roster. |

Very legit, and fair points. I agree with most of it. I feel when a team wins a championship it should buy a grace period for the team. Does that mean they can go out and be non-competitive for 5+ years? Of course not. But that is rarely the case in any sport.
The goal of any franchise in any sport should be simple, put a good product on the field, and be loyal to their paying customers. The Flyers do that, but I'm sorry going almost 4 decades without winning a Championship is too long.

Yep, even played more games than stollie did (of course he started in NCAA).
Even if Anthony can't win the job in london outright this year and they rotate 50/50, only way he doesnt make it, is if he absolutely bombs it numbers wise. Still i think London has a good team in front of him coming back (as usual). |

I plan on watching Plymouth vs London as they open their seasons against each other. |

i honestly disagree with that. not everything is about the history books. real fans spend a lot of time watching their team. it's almost impossible to watch a team that stinks year after year and remain passionate (although i guess eagles fans would have something to say about that.... (for a large portion of my life, at least))
sure, from an outsiders perspective, only a championship means anything. but when you are in the thick of it and following a team closely year after year, it's not so easy to boil down like that
just my opinion, though - FlyerMike18
did you just parentheses within a parentheses bro?

Then why not cash in your chips and find another team to follow that wins more frequently? A team like Manchester United is probably more your taste. But then there'd be little to complain about... |

Wayne Rooney was only rated an 87 in the last EA Sports video game. Wankers. |

Should've (Would've [Could've]) used the old brackets within the parentheses trick. |

Moyes isn't going to lead like Fergie. Rooney is more or less a blue. Plenty to gripe about. |
