Hitchcock was the coach for 2002-03, when they lost in round two to Ottawa. - Jsaquella
Thank for pointing out something totally obvious I already knew.
The Flyers lost to a good Ottawa team in 2003 but they weren't embarrassed even though the player group was largely the same. |

I think the turning point was the off-season acquisition of Jeff "Can He" Hackett. |

Also, can you please put aside your pride and just hand over the god damn silmarils so that we can restore the trees? |

That's my thinking, I was just wondering.
Side question, would you switch out Klatt for Lappy? - jmatchett383
Going with the player that Lappariere was here, and what Klatt was here. No I wouldn't. |

I would. I liked Klatt, and he became a 20-goal scorer (although I think he spent some time in the top-6 that year). He worked hard, and did fit in very nicely with those 2. That said, I think Lappy is pretty much the perfect 4th liner. He didn't have Podein's legs or Otto's faceoff ability, but I'd switch him out for Klatt. |

You may have to inspire a host of Flyers fans to walk out of the blessed realm of the Wells Fargo Center to achieve your end. |

Explain playoffs of 2001/02? Cechmanek had 1.85 gaa .936 s% and had 1 win thanks in part to a Flyers offense that produced 2 goals in 5 games. Roman's fault? - biloxijay

He was actually pretty good in every playoff series. He had bad games, but was solid overall. Take away that 8-goal outburst, and his numbers that year are amazing. |

But what those numbers dont tell you is all the soft goals he allowed, I dont have to tell you what that does to a team in a tight playoff game..... |

So you'd say Ron Hextall was a detriment to the 1988 and 1995 Philadelphia Flyers? |

I think you just answered your question though. Podien, Otto, Klatt was a 3rd line.... Powe-Betts-Lappy was a 4th line. |

Podein-Otto-Klatt was a 3rd line, not a 4th line. They not only could check and shut down any line, but they were also good on the forecheck and could chip in with offense. |

Pat Fallon was also on that team, if I remember correctly. |
