TT makes the first pass on a very nice goal
 - philco28
If all the TT trade rumors were true I'm glad Stan didn't deal him to Florida. |

I don't remember what the rumored return for TT would have been. But he does seem like an elite talent. We do need true top 6 replacements for Hossa and Sharp in the coming years. |

I don't remember the exact names coming back to Chicago, but it was for some of their young starts. But I agree that TT will be a top 6 replacement for the likes of Sharp and Hossa (eventually) as they get older. |

LaRose ends his bizarre summer silence

Sounds like somebody just wants to win.... - DarthKane
How old is he? He should be cheap right? I've known the name for a long time but never really knew anything about the player |

Doesn't seem that he is a Sharp/Hossa replacement - smaller, not as strong, more of a playmaker than a goal scorer or sniper. |

I meant he's a guy who can take a spot in the top 6 of Hossa or Sharp eventually move to the 3rd line. I didn't mean to imply TT's game was like Sharp or Hossa. |

He's 31 and made $1.5 million last year. He could be a decent bottom 6 forward but at this point I'd rather see what some of the young kids can do. |

He is equally adept at passing and shooting. Does both very, very well. Makes some unreal passes, has a great shot. Also handles the puck well in traffic, and is an exceptionally smooth, graceful 360 degree skater.
Like a lot of young players, he needs to fill out and learn how to play defense.
How well he does those two things, and whether he play wings or center, will determine what kind of NHL player he becomes. Very high ceiling.

There is still plenty of time. Hawks' MO seems to be to make those announcements during the season on extensions. |

but I hope he does live up to being a solid 70+ point player. We are loaded on the bottom 6 for a decade. And maybe some of them can be solid 2nd line guys that can play physical and get you around 60 points. This team should be extremely deep for years |

Because if they hide revenues by having a below-market lease at the United Center (half-owned by the Wirtz family) and below-market TV rights from Comcast (also partially owned by the Wirts family), these revenues are not included in HRR that must be split with the players.
Also, if the Blackhawks can show presumed losses from hockey operations, it helps the league in negotiations with the union (see, even Chicago, a major hockey hotbed, is losing money) and, should it come to that, with the city of Chicago.
Plus there are tax considerations that are too complicated for most of us (including, certainly, me) to understand.
Be assured that between the Blackhawks, the UC, Comcast, and probably other ventures, the Wirtz family is making substantial profits on the team. - StLBravesFan

There is no feasible edge to make less....The split could be less but it would be better for Wirtz to make more $$.
Before we question the accounting and other manipulation that is all legal BTW....Keep in mind the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Going back to the late 80's the Hawks were not the most valuble franchise but they were the club that brought the most from the top line to the bottom line of any team.
Also unlike many mega millionares who look to squeeze municipalities the UC was not built with one penny of public money. Not one bond referendum or any other new tax was demanded by Wirtz or Reisndorf to build the UC.
So as far as I'm concerned prices will go up until people stop coming and two years from now if the team keeps rolling they will be much higher than today most likely.
I don't hold that against Wirtz but I would like to hear him not talk about losing money....Most teams don't do nearly as well.
If making money was the aim ........Many owners except a small handfull would be better off with safer investment even though interest rates are low.

Yep! He has very high ceiling and even if he didnĀ“t reach there he could be least Kris Versteeg good..

how are the kids doing this summer, TT, Mcneil, Danault? they have a shot at rockford this year?
any word on Brookbank yet? gotta believe that if SB can rid that million plus contract, you might see Peckham get a shot at that spot, the kid has upside, something the Bowmans are good at, finding the bargain at the dimestore.

McNeill and Danault will be in Rockford this coming season. Also, you can add Peckham to the roster in Rockford as well.
As for Teravainen, the plan is for him to spend another season in Finland before he jumps the pond to North America. |
