And overrated. I'm not saying he won't be an awesome player.

If he is going to be an awesome player, how is he over rated? He shouldn't go #1?

I demand more Eklund blogs about fringe NHL'ers and his great hockey analysis. More of Ian's proposal and Luongo blogs. More of Cloutier's list of 15 Oiler untouchables. More GARTH anything blogs. And bring back Berry!

Do a mini series of blogs comparing each line of the Oilers (as of now) to each other team in the Pacific division to see how we stack up.

I never said he shouldn't go #1 (He most likely will)... I'm talking about reports saying he's going to be better than Crosby. You can go #1 overall, be a great player, and still be overrated. Take Tavares for instance... Went #1, he's an awesome player, but he is overrated.

Make a blog predicting the NHL expansion teams. Pick the city, their names and maybe collaborate with Yost to do an expansion draft.

Blog Idea:

Do a reasonably thorough fictional play-through of the Oil - Jets season opening game... but do it like you're calling the game from the press box, and be only a little bit of a homer.

Tavares underrated?

As far as McDavid goes, this sums up my opinion quite well... http://www.sportsnet.ca/f...tavares-chl-super-series/

I'm curious as to how you rate the youngsters on the Oilers and in their system then.

If Max reinheirt is consensus number 1 overall next year do flames take aaron Ekblad knowing they probably have a shot at McDavid in his year and Tyler Benson in his?

Here's an idea, Clouts. Why don't you do some research and do a bit of a profile on all of the new Oilers most of us know nothing about. I'm talking about stats, scouts comments and junior history on Hamilton, Joensuu, Belov , etc. I know it will take some work, but its better than just saying "meh", and you might learn something.

I think Tavares doesn't get the credit he deserves, he's no Selke winner but his offensive production is quite stellar. I think anybody playing on the Island is kind of playing in the shadows.

I'd rather have McDavid turn out like Toews anyway. I mean if we are going to compare 16 year olds to superstars and all.

They are nowhere near as popular/overrated as Tavares... For instance, although Hall has outproduced him basically every year in the NHL so far, most people still believe Tavares is a much bigger offensive threat. Some even say there is no comparison between the two, which is laughable.

Here's an example of that... http://hfboards.hockeysfu.../showthread.php?t=1479459

I don't know what you want me to say... They're good. I'm not going to overrate any of them though. I think they (Hall, RNH, and Yakupov) were the very good choices for 1st overall in each of their draft years... They look to have been the best choice, but we'll see if that's true 5-10 years down the road. If any of that didn't make sense, sorry... There's people here talking about food and I have no idea what I'm typing

Tavares has 195 points to Halls 145 points since Taylor has been in the league. That doesn't scream basically outproduced to me.

Can you clearly communicate what you want? I will not say that the young guys on the Oilers are going to be better than player x or y, because I am not retarded. I have no idea how they'll turn out, but I do know they're doing quite well so far... I'm happy with them at the moment.

I could be like some Zorches out there and claim that Hall, RNH, Yakupov, and Eberle will all end up being better than so and so, but who the (frank) knowS this stuff? Nobody.
