Morrisey played other teams top forwards on a poor team and did really well. He had the same estimared TOI/G as Seth Jones at 22.6 mins. If he was 3 inches taller he'd have been a top 8 pick.
Trouba was amazing in college. Might be in WPG this year.
Lowry has the potential to be something pretty great. Not a great showing in St. John's though.
Comrie, Petan, Lodge all pretty good prospects. Not so empty for WPG

De La Rose ahead of McCarron, Hudon, and I might even put Thrower in there as well.
But otherwise agree with the others. |

i could be mistaken on him then. just recall hearing his offensive upside questioned and he was drafted in roughly the same spot. it's not to say that i expect McCarron to be come a 30-goal scorer or anything. i think 20 would be a pretty big success, if he can hit that. - DoubleDown
I have heard that McCarron could become a Nick Antropov. If he becomes a 20-goal scorer then it's definitely a successful pick |

Pure nonsense.
They don't play the same style at all. McCarron is a gritty player with a decent skill set.
Antropov was is a skilled player but soft as butter for his size. |

i would hope he plays with a bit more of a mean streak than Antropov. though i imagine he doesn't have the raw skill that Antropov has/had. |

He's much better skater than Antropov and plays more physical. I am wodnering whether he'll be another Andrei NAzarov or Evgenhy Artyukhin |

In all honesty he plays a lot like David Moss. Antropov can't skate anymore due to his bad knees and he isn't physical which is McCarron's claim to fame.
Could be what Ryane Clowe was in San Jose too. |

Supposedly McCarron has pretty quixck feet though and skates really well for a guy his size |

wouldn't be the end of the world if he produces similar numbers but isn't Moss not all the physical? |

I sure hope he plays with more physicality then Antropov. Like I said, if he racks up points, then its a excellent pick for the Habs

i think that they're hoping he turns into a Bryan Bickell or maybe even a David Clarkson. |

honestly, there's nothing wrong with him having the career Scott Thornton did...if you get 1000 games out of a 25th overall pick, you've done something right. |

So if he doesn't score one goal in any of the 1000 games, it was still a solid pick? |

obviously if he lasts 1000 games, he's scored a few goals Howard. |
