I know people hated Carter, but come on... He has to come before Krapanen on this list... - youarewrong
If ever you wonder if people are ignoring your posts and wanted to know why, comments like this that show a dearth of hockey knowledge are why. |

Ignorant comment. I was a Carter fan, but Kapanen was that kind of player that fans connected with (including myself). Solid 2-way player who would sacrifice his body for the team and do anything to help the team, even play D. Now I'm in no way saying Kapanen is a better player than Carter, but he is the player I'd vote for when asked to choose one as a player for the 2000s Flyers. |

so with your theory Roman should have gotten 100% of the votes for the 2000 goalie since his number were far and away superior than anyone else on the list. - Pyzik
He got 100% of my vote! |

First, you are using the word Ignorant incorrectly. I think you mean rude. And Second, I was joking. I liked Kapanen fine. I just have always called him Krapanen... its just too easy... Just like I always said Blair Butts.

Carter was acquired to score goals. Kapanen was primarily a defensive forward. Those two numbers, lacking context, do not make for the open-and-shut case you seem to think they do. - dilbert719
It's not "open-shut" but it is revealing enough. Carter was a draft pick who's 46 goals IIRC have been the best for a flyer in post lockout(05/06.) For whatever your reasoning, people seem to love to hate Carter. Not trying to take away from the game that Kappy brings, but just seems like theres alot of cartsy hate around here.. Yes, stats dont show everything a player brings to a team, but your personal opinion on a player doesnt mean you just throw stats out the window |

Definitely Mike Richards. When he wanted to blow someone up, he could do so and do it easily.

Career w/ Flyers
Kapanen -24 110pts
Carter +51 343pts
Carter also played on the PK and was never hidden from other team's top lines. He has always been a good two way player. Let's also not forget he potted a ton of goals for this team. More in one season than Kapanen in his entire Flyers career.
People have such a hard on for Sami because he played defense when the Flyers were in desperate need. I loved the guy when he was here, but putting him ahead of Carter is so irrational.

I dont think people loved Sami because he played defense, but because he was the epitome of a team first guy. He played with his heart on his sleeve, and was a pleasure to watch. Matt Read reminds me a bit of Sami. |

Changing the subject completely: whats the over/under on how long it takes for the Coyotes new ownership to start talking about the need to relocate the franchise? I just don't see hockey ever succeeding in the Phoenix market. I mean if the NFL can't do well there, hockey doesn't have a shot.

He did not produce very well in the playoffs for the Flyers. But I will at least mention that he played most of those games with either a separated shoulder, broken feet, or a badly sprained knee...
Just sayin'
