Carter was 11th in what is considered to be possibly the best draft in NHL history.

That 11th means a lot more than an ordinary 11th.

Now with that being said.. I have never sat back and said, WOW, Jeff Carter was picked 11th overall, he is under-performing. I have never said that for ANY player. I simply dont get that rationale

- jak521

I said that about Daigle. Sue me.

An all decade team isn't a team that will play against another. It's simply taking the best 12 forwards, best 6 defenseman and best goalie.

You realize that I already know the team we're forming isn't going to play anyone right?

Which part?

The Rangers drafting fail or the fact that his name is so close to being "Hugh Jass"?

Then why are you so worried about putting together such a good checking 4th line?

This is just about choosing the best players of the last decade+

Just googled Hartnells x-wife to get a nice pic of her on here... if those bikini pics are of her, she's in for 1-20 in my top 20!

I guess her alimony checks stopped April 1st of this year. I didn't realize that Hartnell and Richards were bashing her on twitter. Richards really was a good buddy to Hartnell. I miss that guy.

Because Sami played before the lockout opened the game up into pond hockey. Hard to say what kind of numbers he could have put up if he played in his prime during the last 5 years. Arguably, it has never been easier to score a goal in the NHL than it is today.

Except for maybe back in 1899.

I like the return, but trading Mike Richards was not a fun day for me, as a Flyers fan. He was my favorite player.

He played 1.5 seasons with the Flyers before and 3 seasons with the Flyers after the lockout.

Lets also not forget... that Carter has been traded twice now in his young career. There is def something about him that has allowed that to happen.

Carter was/is a better player than Coutier, and we've anointed Coutier as being untouchable.

I find it a bit unfair to criticize Carter's playoff stats without at least acknowledging that he was playing with some pretty severe injuries that would have sidelined him had it been the regular season.

I will never question his heart or his work ethic.

Not in his prime. He was 32 when the lockout ended.

You aren't going to convince me to put Carter on the team over Kapanen. And I don't want to convince you to put Kapanen in over Carter... its a freaking poll...

Both trades netted very good returns.

Carter was in the same position as Couturier after his second season. Good rookie year followed by a sophomore slump.

Following the disaster season, Carter was still deemed an untouchable.

Everyone has biases. That is what makes all of us individuals. I don't belong to group think crap.

Kapanen deserves a spot on the team because of his play here. He earned it. Carter didn't.

Its that simple for me.
