If he is healthy, PMB is gonna help... If they collapse on JT leaving PMB with some room, he could have a really good year. Him being healthy for a full season is the question tho. PMB is probably the most talented player the Isles have put next to JT yet.

And yes, I want the Isles to give Bailey another look on JT's wing... He looked really good there.

I don't know much about PMB but I'm afraid he's going to be this year's Boyes. I'd rather see if Bailey could play wing with Tavares and Moulson. He brings speed and stick handling that Boyes didn't have, plus he is very good defensively.

Last season he was blaringly bad at times defensively. I can't count how many times he just completely stopped skating when the puck went the other way? He was at times far worse than boyes.

A lot of that could have been Boyes too... The line might have put up points, but it did not look cohesive at all!

Anyone sign DP, Boyes or Reasoner yet?
- mighty13duck

No but the Penguins signed Jacques Martin as their assistant coach. He spent 2.5 years as head coach in Montreal. Not that he is the answer for this team but when's the last time we had an over-abundance of talent/knowledge/wisdom anywhere on this team or in this organization???

Pens have two legit head coaches for their squad and we have the Massachusettes Mafia which makes Dougie Weight the equivalant of Joe Pesci in goodfellas.

Sorry if all the civility and good humor comes to a screeching halt. I still think Garth comes up short for what he puts on the ice and behind the bench. Is anyone here truly impressed with the off-season acquisitions? I think the team is a little better but he has to prove that HE can make things happen, NOT waiting for all the picks to mature and all good things fall into place. There's no guarantee that waiting is the right thing to do and that it will be successful. He's buying one lottery ticket when he could possibly have more chances at success. Not saying I want him to follow in even ONE of MM's footsteps but I still don't think he's doing enough and our conference just got tougher.

PMB seems to be a wild card to me? Everyone has him penciled in on the first line but who knows whether that'll be the case or not?

Agrees it looked forced out there at times for them. When the other lines started clicking it was especially noticeable. Hopefully whoever winds up with Jt this season has.some chemistry. Love to see him actually clicking with someone. I feel we haven't seen all he has to offer yet.

Based off of talking to some of my buddy's that are wild fans, I think PMB has a shot at being a real force with JT. He can skate, has great playmaking ability and isn't a liability in his own zone. IF he can stay healthy (a big if) I'm really looking forward to seeing how well they can mesh. He could be better then PAP and much better then Boyes. If he can avoid concussions and develop chemistry with JT this could be a fun line to watch.

How hard is it to "mesh" with a guy who skates the puck into the zone, can dig it out of the corner or behind the net or along the wall and can thread a pass through two defenders to your tape?
Playing with JT is fundamental hockey. Keep your eyes open and your stick ready....he will find you.

If it was that easy, then we would never have to sign from outside the organization to play with him... but.. this is atleast the 4th guy we have brought in.

Bringing in has been pos and expecting them to flourish is not a new idea but nor the best idea. Put a real winger on that line and we will have a different, even better team overall. Brad boyes was a gamble with someone who is a team player(look at his contract)career and livelihood. PMB imo is more of the same. JT deserves a real winger not somebody he HAS to make better to provide more scoring for the team. Sorry I'm on my phone if this isn't legible...

Boyes was a former 40 goal scorer and he had eight the year bfr he started and stayed on our first line? He qualifies as a has been in my book. Funny none the less

I hear he could still be a camp invitee, but he will get interest elsewhere (please someone show interest in him) He would have been signed somewhere by now if he wasn't looking for a last contract payday.

He can look all he wants. With the fa market as thin as it was this year it says a lot that he's not signed. The guy sucks

He's looking for way too much money for the amount of talent he brings.. he wants to turn a statistically good season into a massive payday. His agent should be fired.
