Funny that would be news to the nhl
if that was the case why hasnt there been any movement towards that and why is it that finding new ownership isnt so urgent?
Recently again the nhl said the devils financials are stable and they are not worried
did they steal from the ny post? - dmarsden2988
Yes because the nhl would publicly announce that one of their teams is so unprofitable that they are in more debt than they are worth and that they have no other options but to take them over....if you guys are still trying to rationalize this as fake or inaccurate then idk what will convince you guys that you are in serious trouble. |

There you go again going out of your way to try to rip on the rangers and you say that your not an extremist ranger hater - rangerdanger94
No ripping the Rangers at all ripping fans like you. You claim to be the "Good guys" but show up whenever a team like the Devils or Isles have a problem. Yet you complain when guys like me or others do it to the Rags. |

The NHL should just be more like the KHL and let don billionaires own teams and spend what they want lol. I do feel bad for teams like the Isles and Devils, to be in the area they are (concentrated with other sports teams). |

There are Rangers, Islanders and Devils fans on this site that have gotten along for years. There are basically two groups of people -- the groups that just like talking hockey and getting along, without acting like a bunch of tools (while ofcourse engaging in some good nature ribbing). And the group that seems to love just trolling each other back and forth. Everybody has a choice of which group to be in. |

Look at Rich Cheres twitter, Devils expected to be sold to the Barroway group or 76ers ownership soon. The reason a lot of the ownership and debt problems are constantly disregarded here is they usually always stem from the NY Post. The NY Post has been constantly proven wrong time and time again. Are there ownership/money problems? Without a doubt. Are they as bad as people make them out to be? Not at all. |

I'm not sure how the 76ers ownership group would alter how the Devils run things now, but Harris has extremely deep pockets.

Vanderbeek has exhausted his options of trying to raise funds. It why he is selling the team. He didn't want to, but poop happened. If he didn't sell the team he would risk losing the team to the lenders for nothing. |

Don't worry. The team will just raise its ticket prices substantially thus increasing our revenues substantially. Its a fool proof plan. |

Nhl just shot down that report saying it was inaccurate
no one said the devils dont have some financial issues just that its not near what people are saying or reporting
anything the ny post or taken from the post has to be questioned as they have shown that they arent a reliable source |

So what impact if any will this have on Lou?
Does he step down during/after the season or does he stick around?
Got that feeling that this may be his last year with the Devils. |

There is a lot more to ticket prices than supply and demand. There is variable pricing amongst other things . Also, say there are 10,000 seats and the stadium sells out if the tickets are $20 each. Thats $200,000 of revenue. Now say they raise the ticket prices to $30 but only sell 7,500 seats . Thats a revenue of $225,000, $25,000 more even though they sold less seats. |

Well deserved. He works hard game in and game out. Most importantly like Elias, and Zajac he's a guy who wants to be here. |

Yes, which is why there is an equilibrium price which results in the highest revenues. Variable pricing is still related to demand. As with any service based business part of the growing the business is getting a larger customer base and keeping that customer base, so a team might sacrifice a little revenue short term for the long term. Its far from the increase ticket prices --> increase revenues model you tried to explain. |
