You're right: I write about the team every single day...sometimes more than once...but I don't follow them.
Is there a 1-800 number I can call to get some better trolls? The quality is really starting to fall off. Ever since Pilgor starting using the name Iggysbff... - Maxbone

That wa a good post and I agree 100%. Now I do t want to actually trade any of our top 6 but if I were Mac T I would seriously consider a proposal like this:
To Edmonton :
Brandon Dubinski
Nick Foligno
Fedor Tyutin
To Columbus
Nail Yakupov
Anton Lander
Martin Marincin
2014 1st
Regardless of whether Columbus would make the trade, this is the kind of deal that Mac would absolutely have to consider.
Hall Nuge Ebs
Perron Gags Hemmer
Foligno Dubinski Jones
Smyth Gordon Joensuu
Tyutin Petry
J.Schultz Ferrence
Belov Smid
Without Yak, I think this a way thicker line up. - Jeropotato
I get what you're aiming for there, but if we give up a former first overall and a 1st we need a dman better than Fedor Tyutin coming back our way. |

yeah, so fun. I highly recommend it to the bc'ers and Albertans
was crazy. it was almost a home game for the jays. bet the first 2 games were almost half blue jay fans with so many Vancouverites (and a lot of Albertans) down for the game.
im making the trip a tradition for sure |

What about this offer for Hemsky: Jim O'Brien and a 4th for Hemsky.
Gives you a solid 3rd or 4th line C who has some offence and is def respsonsible. |

So clouts... Would you consider Dan Girardi a bad skater considering he had 6 more blocks last year than Smid. I'd take the 6th best shot blocker in the league any day (Smid) |

I still say that the Oil needs to add a physical presence to protect the core of small, talented forwards who get pushed around far too much. Hemsky has pride and will play very well to enhance his free agent value next year. So provided he stays healthy, a trade deadline deal could be our best chance to get some return.
We do need another year to give the young guys more time to develop & mature. I trust MacT to key on team attitude, effort and chemistry, but he's simply got to get a beast on board for a protector role.
I believe that keeping our 1st rd pick next year is important and should not be traded away unless there's a solid return, like a big, fast winger such as Burns, but that's not likely to happen. |

hthis lineup won't happen until november sense nugent-hopkins is out til then but
hall nugent-hopkins yakupov
perron ganger eberle
smyth gordon hemsky
jones lander jeonsou
ference j shultz
smid petry
belov n shultz gerbeskov
Ryan smyth is NOT retiring until the end of the year clouts so shut up about him. Deal with it instead of being a baby.
Hemsky will also be gone at the end of the year if not sooner but until then there isn't anything wrong with running three scroing lines.
now lastly if our D down the road looks like this
nurse j shultz
klefbom petry
smid ference
i'm completly comfortable with that back end.
You preach patience in one sentence and then you turn around and female dog about the waiting in the next. This is likely the last year in the rebuild. We might even make the playoffs in it but one more year and then we will have all the roster holes solved. - deadsector

Guys this is a great deal! That guy with the crystal ball told us last year that Jim O'Brien would outscore Yakupov so this is a STEAL! |

I see where you're coming from, but A.) the cap probably doesn't work B.) I'd want more of a future return in the form of a 1st or 2nd and C.) Columbus is in big to start winning now; I can't see them trading that much for a RW that would fall in behind Gaborik, a POSSIBLE bottom-6 C, and a quality D prospect that's still a couple years away.
Edit: Also, your second line then lacks a true finisher. All three have a tendency to "over-dangle" and not pass the puck at the right time in the pursuit of the perfect play. That's the LAST thing I wanna see. |

Relax there M.B. J Obrien would have a hard time breaking 20 PTS. I never said he was a scoring star. You need def responsible 3rd and 4th liners who are cheap, and JO fits that bill. The amount of salary that any team takes back in a deal for Hemsky is hard to swallow for half a year of possible production. Outside of Edm, Hemsky's trade value is close to zero. |

You weren't here last year, I presume? Let me fill you in. There was this Sens fan that insisted without doubt that Jim O'Brien would outscore Nail Yakupov not only in 2012-13, but throughout their respective careers. It was hilarious at the time. He may have been trolling, but he sure sounded serious as hell. |

Whoever said that is a complete idiot. Jim has never been a real scorer, but has developed nicely into a supporting player who just does not fit into the Sens plans as a center. They had too many as it is and he deserves to play at his natural position. Don't get me wrong, Hemmer has skill, but injury concerns and salary make him a massively depreciated asset. Love it or hate it, he makes too much for what he offers, not for what he might offer with his skill (which he can't show because a slight breeze puts him on the IR). |

Well imo our defense has improved over last season. Ferrence slots in somewhere in the top 4. And lots of competition for the 5/6/7 roster slots. Instead of just being stuck with a busted whitney, Potter and peckham, I think we have a real competition this season and some real wildcards that will make training camp very interesting. Additionally I like to think of what out defense will look like in three years and with all the prospects and good young defenders we have it looks very good. Klefbom, Schultz, Nurse, Petry, Ferrence, Smid. Probably not an exact picture but gives you a good idea of where the future is headed.
As for the bottom six, it has also improved over last season. Ryan Jones will be back, in shape and ready to play. Gordon is an upgrade on the Horcoff we had last season, can play against top competition and can win faceoffs. Hemsky should be able to provide some depth offense but could be a defensive liability. The fourth line has basically stayed the same with Joensuu and some of the AHLers being wildcards to maybe crack the lineup.
Dubnyk is a #1 goalie in my eyes but it still seems to me that he has a tendency to let it some bad goals. I don't know if this is a concentration issue and can be overcome or its a sign that he has plateaued and the Dubnyk we've seen is the best Dubnyk we will ever see. If that is the case then we might need a goalie upgrade if we ever want to be cup contenders. |

I think Eakins will help with the d this year at times it just seemed like there was no organization to the defence last or defence in general. I get the run and gun style but you still want to have a solid defensive scheme to balance. I just never stood Ralph's defensive plan if he even had one. |
