Ok, lets stop talking about all the awful memories we have shared with the Flyers. How do you like this current roster we have coming into next season. Im optimistic - GOA88
I think they are going to be better than a lot of people expect if, and it's a big if, the D can stay healthy. They are solid up front, especially down the middle, and I believe Schenn and Couturier are only going to get better. A top 4 on D of Timonen, Schenn, Coburn and Grossmann/Streit is pretty solid and having 2 hard working, talented goaltenders who get along well with each other is a good thing.
If they stay healthy, I believe they will finish in the top 3 in their division along with the Rangers and Pens.

Every morning, I peruse the "Today in Flyers History" section of Flyershistory.com, which includes sections on all players' birthdays and all roster transactions that have occurred on that particular calendar date. - bmeltzer

I do wish the NHL would go back to whites at home and dark sweaters on the road. - Flyskippy

I did the same exact thing. Was so numb at the time in disbelief that it was over, but you don't want to miss seeing things like that in person. Or miss out on booing Bettman.
FWIW Toews' parents were sitting two rows in front of us and were very gracious in victory, not to mention just being very nice people overall. Hard to hate on the guy one bit after meeting them. - Tartan69
I sat in front of Brian Campbell's family. They couldn't have been any nicer. |

i really dont care much about the jerseys either way. they only thing that i really hated was that metalic alternate logo with the smaller orange dot in the center that they used in the early 2000s

Not sure if Rathje qualifies. He actually played OKAY in his first year. His knees can get consideration though. |

Great post.
I'm excited for the season. Goalies that can move the puck, what a concept!
I think Jake V is going to take another jump forward and become a bonified all star this year. I expect the Schenn's and Couts to continue to improve.
Simmonds will be a joy to watch as always with his gritty play.
Also I am looking forward to watching how Gus and even Ollie the Great Dane do in the preseason.

That orange alternate was terrible. The flyers have such a great look to them, but that 3rd jersey was an abortion. |

I think if it was a full season that the Flyers would have wound up making the playoffs, they had a slow start. They really arent all that bad. It will be no surprise to anyone that knows hockey when the flyers are a contender next season. The best thing they couldve have done and did was get Bryz out of town. He was a cancer in the locker room and his consistent sup par play and soft goals was the main reason for the flyers failures |

Would be fine with their current jersey setup, (preferably whites at home) and then using this past winter classic jersey as the third.. No more new jerseys please.. Keep something consistant |

Actually, I was trying to find just a picture of the jersey and couldn't. Figured Primeau would be the easiest to find wearing that atrocity. |

It's fine until you get to the goalies - l know it's stale but that is just bad. At the end of the day in a dog fight I'd take Esche every day of the week. But it's all in good fun at this point - wilsonecho91
I'd be really happy if we did this next year and Everyone would end up voting for Emery. =)

Agreed. I stayed. Might be the only time I'll ever see a Cup presentation. Booed the poop out of Bettman. Out of respect for the game, I clapped (did not cheer) for Toews with the Smythe and Cup; it's the dude's biggest accomplishment ever, no way am I gonna boo him (if it was his 2nd Cup, different story). After they started handing it off, I left. - jmatchett383
Booed Bettman. Watched Toews (whom I really like). Turned my back on the proceedings until my friend reported Sharpe was taking the handoff. Watched and cheered him and then left. |

Speaking of the handoff, I remember Gagne ALMOST dropped the Cup when LA won it. Has anyone ever dropped it on the ice? |

Why didnt we re-sign him? Oh yeah we were trying to get Parise. Oh well. Voracek is better now. I think the Giroux line will be dynamic this coming season, Hartnell will need to step up |
