depends how eakins works out, I fully believe they're getting closer to being the powerhouse that people have talked about for 2-3 years now...coaching is the key to that team...same with Phoenix...or should i say Arizona I think the Coyotes will do better than other years And when the ducks have a core of Perry/Getzlaf and young guys like Etem and Silfverberg, i'd say anything can happen there...I'm not saying they'll do as well as they did in the regular season last year, but I don't think they're just a fluke

eakins will have to be a significant change in the right direction for EDM to have any hope. Krueger's effect on EDM's 5 on 5 play was bad bad bad.

I doubt PHX does better than they did in 2012. Loss of Gordon, Labarbera. Aging Doan. Tippett having to suck all he can out of the poor offence that he has.

the underlying stats guys can tell you how lucky of seasons ANA and especially TO had this year. I'm sticking with LA-SJ-VAN in that order. I think VAN will drop a bit thanks to goaltending and an injury prone/unproven 2nd line

Edmonton in your world I believe is the most interesting team, but very subjective since you write an Oilers blog like twice a day. Out of this market the Oilers aren't as relevant as you think, I can almost guarantee. Entertaining read though.

Cloutier is the biggest homer around. The Canucks are easily the most interesting team in the NHL. Everyone loves talking about the Canucks, even those who claim they hate them. The Sedins last years of their contracts, Tortorella, Luongo's vindication, three possible Calder nominees in Horvat, Shinkaruk and Gaunce, the outdoor game... The list goes on and on. Nobody gives a rip about the two garbage teams in Alberta.
