I like Kassian. He's effective when he's played with the sedins(although who isn't?). Adds a different dimension to VAN. Don't know where it puts Burrows though.

The reason wasn't Kassian himself. He didn't play himself off that line.

He was playing great with the Sedins, and a number of his goals were from his own work, not just being in the right place at the right time.

Burrows was put back with the Sedins because they looked less effective with Kassian as a winger than with Burrows.

Burrows's speed, forechecking, and hockey sense just makes the Sedins more effective.

Symbiotic relationship, like Venom, and Spiderman...

Kassian even played decent the first few weeks after being taken off their line, but was still undeservedly demoted after any minor defensive error.

Eventually, he started to play scared, and treated the puck like a grenade.

I have high hopes for Kassian, but until he proves he's a top6 forward, I won't consider him one. Perhaps I should have specified "proven."

Booth is a wildcard. It's been a while since he's produced at a top6 pace. Obviously health has been a huge issue.

Again, a lot to prove, but I'm not totally confident in him, and don't see why anyone would be.

Richardson was a healthy scratch for LA for a good portion of last season, and their cup winning year. He has a ring, yes, but that has nothing to do with how capable a 3C he is.

He played wing for LA the majority of their cup winning year anyway.

He's a good 4C, but still a downgrade on Lapierre, and would be one of the weakest 3Cs in the NHL.

Just because a player never hurt a team doesn't mean you should be optimistic about him as a 3C.

And I would honestly be shocked if he was the Canucks 3C this season...

He must not know what he has been doing...with the virtually the same group...you know that this team and the one that made the cup isn't far different right? Torres and Ehrhoff are gone and in are Tanev and Richardson...that should not make or break the team...you realize MacKinnon is an unproven player too? Shocker...Kassian is no MacKinnon but at the same time, he was great for a stretch of games until AV (frank)ed with his head...but ya i'm sure its just the team that sucks

You are twisting my words. I never said "blah blah blah noone's good enough", and I never said the "team sucks".

I expressed concerns about certain areas of the team and you're taking those concerns to the extreme—to the point where you're turning it into bashing.

It's about looking at things realistically and realizing that the best case scenario isn't always going to happen.

Kassian hasn't proven he can produce at a top6 pace fore more than 9 games.

I believe he will eventually, but until he does, I won't consider him one, and will continue to see that as a hole in the lineup.

Booth and Kesler have also both had injury issues for a few seasons. If one or both were to get injured again, that's another hole in the top6.

If you go read my original post, I also said no "proven 3C."

Richardson is a good bottom 6 player who played the majority of the time on the 4th line, and some spot duty on the 3rd.

He also played wing the majority of the time on LA.

So while I consider him a good 4C, I don't consider him a proven 3C.

This team isn't good enough to be above criticism...

Yes, you can blame the boneheaded decisions of AV for that IMO...Ballard only appeared to be a waste of a trade because he was in AV's dog house, I began to really hate the coaching here...So glad its changed...Players obviously began to feel comfortable with that coach...and thats not what they needed.
