Like 99.9% of the Buffalo fans, you never heard of these players prior to the Sabres drafting them and then you watch the hyped up 40 second promo video on the player and you think we've got the next Crosby. Darcy does not draft well. Period. Most of these players will disappear into obscurity or be traded.

Pretty sure everyone knew who Grigorenko and Ristolainen were before we drafted but I see your point.

We need a top 5 pick badly

Okposo was in TO training with Tavares Strome and Cizikas.

I hope that doesn't mean they are all going to Toronto!!!

Of course there are other ways, I said foolproof way is at the top of the draft.

1) The sabres have drafted decently when you consider they hadn't picked in the top 10 in over a decade before this year. Unlike the Avalanche who put the uck in suck in the last 5 years

2) Free agents go wherever the money is and where they can compete for a cup so obviously they aren't going to come here if were rebuilding. And in order to become competitive again, you have to acquire elite talent so see my first point. Besides when was the last time the Avalanche signed a big ticket free agent?

3). What rebuilding team trades away picks and prospects for veteran players? If they are bad enough next year they won't have to trade anyone because they'll finally be bad enough to get a player to build around.

There's plenty of good players that get drafted outside the top 10. Last one I remeber was Erik karlsson. And how have they drafted decently? I can't think of a successful draft pick in the last 10 years by the sabres. Sure they have a potential good prospect but there's no way of telling. How did the blue jackets rebuild? They go from last to right outside the playoffs in the leagues toughest division without any draft picks. Just smart trades and free agent signings

This made me laugh. You sound like a bitter fan who knows nothing of our current prospect pool. So what if we have drafted bad in the past, does that mean it's impossible for us to draft a good player? Are the scouting reports on these players void once they are drafted by the Sabres? I'm tired of the constant bashing of our young players, you sound like that squirrel guy that's obsessed with telling us how Girgs is horrible and will never make it out of the AHL. I never said we had the next Crosby but something tells me that if we DID have the next Crosby, you would say the same thing.

Jackets had Bobrovsky and there was no way of knowing he'd put up those numbers, and they missed fyi.

Again, you keep missing my point I'm saying the easiest and lowest risk way of acquiring elite players is at the top of the draft.

How exactly did Foligno suck? He's a third line player who played like a 3rd line player. Ennis was decent considering who he played with. Both Goalies sucked as a result of defense. Grigorenko spent all year on the fourth line. I can't defend the whole Myers thing though

Grigs is 18 playing with scrubs and getting very little Ice time and PP time. Ennis like played with everyone and put up decent points. Foligno did alright considering what he's supposed to be. And Enroth might not have had the best GAA (which was a result of the team, not him) but to say someone who had I think a .919 SV%

Possibly the worst team in the league with the worst crop of forwards (if vaneks gone) I've seen in years. 2 playoff appearances is not good for a team that's not rebuilding. Avs made it to the playoffs while they were rebuilding because our prospects were so good at 18 years old. We has seven rookies on our roster when we went to the playoffs. ONLY 1 IN THE FIRST ROUND. Sabres fans go through the same cycle every year.

I'm the moron? You think the sabres are better than the Avs. We have 4 centers better than your top center. And how are our wingers bad. Landeskog parenteau Downie tanguay McGinn are much better than yours. If millers gone our goaltending is the same. And your defense isn't much better.
