Average goaltending can win championships. eDo th penguins, Blackhawks, rangers, kings have standout defense? No just an average blue line. Blackhawks and penguins were both carried by their forwards. You can be successful if your defense or forwards are good than you could contend for the playoffs. If a Norris trophy winner d man came to us then we'd be contending for a lot more than the playoffs

Our wingers are oreily, landeskog, parenteau, McGinn, Downie, and tanguay. Oreily had 20 points in 29 games. Landeskog was hurt, Downie was out for the year, and tanguay was on the flames. And McGinn is an above average 3rd line winger

I never said the Avs were good on D. But last year Johnson and Ryan Wilson were injured for a lot of the season and that's our top 2.
