My top 10 list for today: Top 10 most influential figures in Flyers history other than players.

I have a connection in that used to work for the titans, the only reason I say used to is because the titans organization is not playing this year, who said that he would not be surprised if Hovinen is an NHL goalie one day. He thought they gave up on him too soon and that he was misunderstood and not given a fair shake... I guess we will see |

Jeez, even when I'm away on a family vacation, I get talked about. Which is absolutely ridiculous. Because it has zero to do with the blog. My opinion is that Bryzgalov is no longer a Flyer. It didn't work out, for a number of reasons. Time to move on as far as I'm concerned. |

Just finished going through some Mark Streit highlights. I have to admit, I've judged harshly. He's a very flashy and offensive from the blue line. His hands might be better younger player on the blue line such as Meszaros and Carle. His hands might be better then some of the young forwards we have outside of Giroux. Streit will easily rival Timonen's offense. Hopefully both Power Play units will get balanced out. I'm very excited for Streit. |

Streit will (well, could) rival Timonen's offense, and he has a heavier shot. But he's nowhere near Timonen's level, even at Kimmo's age, defensively. Timonen is an odd-man rush destroying machine. If Streit is able to help out the PP and stay out of the minus column, then I'll be fine with him. |

The thing is, if Laviolette stays as coach, they desperately needed a guy with Streit's puck moving capabilities. They obviously felt that trading Couturier or Schenn for a guy like Keith Yandle was a no go, so they got Streit and gave him the deal he wanted. |

Just got back from your neck of the woods.
But on topic, Streit could provide something that the team sorely lacks, and even though it isnt directly defensive, will help the teams defense out. He moves the puck very effectively. When a guy can move the puck out of the zone quickly, it reduces the time spent in the zone. One of my biggest gripes the past two seasons is that guys fail to clear the puck. Failing to clear the puck results in more offensive chances for the opposition, which ultimately in some cases result in goals. Just having a guy that can move the puck will prevent some of those goals. |

Agreed...his ability to move the puck will help prevent the turnovers and big stay at home guys lugging the puck thru the NZ. |

Mind blowing where people's minds wonder. I never compared Streit's defense to Timonen's |
