Any update on Meszaros?

I guess Lavy's answer to the question relies on the health of #44. Any word on how rested he feels from the offseason and if his nagging injuries have eased?

Luukko asked us if we liked afternoon games and most of us said no and they basically said too bad as we make a lot of money off of them and it is good for families and kids.

Love the afternoon games and I hope they continue them.

Last I heard was that he's working out (hopefully with no training injury mishaps this time) and will be ready for the start of camp.

Yeah? I don't know what's gonna happen, but one of the D is gonna be the odd-man-out when it comes down to our top 6. Can we not just give Meszaros away for any pick or prospect we can get? I wanna see Gustafsson get a shot in the top 6 right out of training camp.

Word on the street is he's being held together by Elmer's glue.

You can never have too many d-men. As you saw last year the defense core that closed the season included the likes of Lauridsen, Manning, Huskins, Gervais etc..

This is true, but at the price-tag he carries, I think it's just too much to carry on as a "depth D" at this point in his career with the Flyers. If he can still play effectively and maintain his health, he's a top 6 guy on our team for sure. Anything less, and I don't think he has a spot on this roster relative to his cap hit.

But they aren't considered full-time NHL defensemen, and they aren't making $3M+

Yeah, along the same lines as my post above. Mesz would just be way too pricey to keep on as depth material or insurance.

Well he doesn't seem like he can be traded. It's the last year of his deal. Most likely scenario is he gets hurt again and spends the season on the injured list.

I love them, too. Being able to get home from Philly in the daytime makes going to a game a lot more appealing.
