Oh, well good to know we are set up front .

Can't wait for the 3rd and 4th line to get manhandled on a regular basis, and when injuries start to happen that pool of prospects gets pretty thin. And there is no way Horvat should be playing in the NHL yet.

Your comments on Murray/Tanev, echo exactly what I said. Except I think Tanev has some value.

What do you expect on a 3rd / 4th line??? How is a 3rd line of Higgins / Gaunce / Hansen going to be "manhandled on a regular basis?" Richardson might not be an ideal 3rd line center, but he is an excellent 4th line center. Don't forget the Kings, who everyone gushes over, have freakin' Dan Carcillo on their 4th line.

The team has actually done a pretty good job of stocking up on guys who can fill in if there are injuries. An injury to Kesler or the Sedins would prove difficult to withstand, but guess what, the Blackhawks wouldn't be able to replace Toews, Kane or Sharp either. It's the nature of the salary cap.

Tanev has value, just no trade value. His value is to the Canucks. If they were to trade his rights they'd be lucky to get a 3rd rd pick (my guess is a 4th rd).

How does that help you? He doesn't hit, backcheck or create offense.

He'd be more of an insurance policy. It would give us 7 legitimate wingers who can play on the top 3 lines. In the case of injury he could fill in on either the 2nd or 3rd line.

I don't think they're after him and I think they're better off adding an additional D-man. But if we had the extra cap space and we could fill it with him rather than just leave it empty, I'd rather have the insurance.

I would like to see Burrows play with Hansen. I think it would be a good shut down line that can chip in many goals.

Sedin Sedin Kassian.
Booth Kesler Gaunce .
Burrows Schroeder Hansen
Higgins Richardson Weise

Sestito /Santorri

Kassian is the protector and also creates space. He can also score.

You know what's better than a "shut down line?" A line that has control of the puck in the offensive zone. Also, if you are going to have a "shut down line," the center for that line is not Jordan Schroeder.

Gilman said Booth will be on the 2nd line. Tortorella said he wants to play Kesler with Burrows.

At least to start the season it sounds like it's already been set:
Booth - Kesler - Burrows

Sedin/Sedin/Kassian
Booth/Kesler/Burrows
Ferriero or Higgins/Richardson/Hansen (not meant as a shut down line)
Sesito/Gaunce/Weise

I'd prefer to see the forward lines like this...Gaunce would probably be a good guy to wear people down if he hits a lot...he's a big body

I'd swap Gaunce and Richardson. Gaunce needs more ice time to develop. He's also a bigger body and had more offensive upside than Richardson. Richardson is an excellent 4C, but likely a below average 3C. Same way Higgins is a great 3rd line winger, but a below average 2nd line winger.

Ya and the only reason I put Gaunce on the 4th line is because he's a big body...and so are the other 2 on the 4th line...for the purpose of banging and crashing...not to score
