I did, but how are you ranked higher than Toews if your not? Its logic and as far as coming off a great season I guess those people think that was a fluke? How about effectively shutting down Crosby in the playoffs, I guess thats a fluke as well? You cant judge a player or a team fairly in a 48 game season, there was a lot of weird things that went down. He still averaged a point per game and was solid on the PK, he plays the first PK unit for christs sake. He must really suck, thats why the PK was 5th....

I think the logic is lacking here. If you want to argue that Giroux is one of the top forwards in the League, I think you'd find everyone to pretty much agree with you there. As I and others have stated, Giroux plays well on the PK. But he's not one of the top PK forwards in the League. Nor did anyone say that he sucks on the PK. What's been said repeatedly is that overall, Giroux is an average player defensively. Which is just one facet of his game that needs to improve.
You keep stating that he's one of the top defensive forwards in the League. Not sure what that's based on.

I dont think anyone is denying that G is an amazing talent.. It just that when people disagreed with your premise (and attempt at factual proof that you were right about your opinion) that he is in the top 5 and one of the best 2 way players in the game.

I love G just as much as the next guy.

I don't even disagree with the top 5 player part (despite the down year, I'm still wearing the orange tinted kool aid). It's the top 2 way player part I don't agree with.

I would love to see what Giroux could do with Martin St.Louis or Marian Hossa or Corey Perry, the list goes on. He plays with Scott Hartnell and most recently Voracek who isnt in the same category as those players by far

Voracek is quickly emerging as an elite RWer. He's outscored the likes of Gaborik and Kovalchuk over the past 82 game period

He isnt on the Bergeron, Datsyuk, Toews level defensively, I know that. Im saying he is a great 2-way player. Hes not the best at either one. He is a package and thats why he is ranked so high.

After trading Carter for Voracek and Couturier, we also lost Ville Leino to free agency. I wasn't overly impressed by Jake Voracek in his first go with the Flyers and he reminded me a lot of Ville Leino and Leino is a player I liked a lot. Now I see that voracek is much more then a valuable piece to trade away. Voracek's biggest knock all along was the lack of shooting. If he goes back to these bad habits, I'm all for trading him. If he keeps up a healthy balanced of shooting and passing at the proper times, I'll never wanna let go of him.

Again, I'd disagree with that. He wouldn't make my list of the better two way players in the League. His overall defensive game is too suspect. He'd certainly make the list of top offensive players.

And just to be clear, I don't feel that Giroux is one of those players who overlooks the defensive game. He always makes an effort defensively.

Thats why Giroux has been ranked as one of the best defensive forwards in the game, top 10. This isnt just my opinion, but players in the league that take votes and PROFESSIONAL hockey analyst who arent drinking the orange kool-aid.
