Let's look deeper into this. The TSN ranking you provided was published prior to the 12/13 Season, after the 11/12 Season. In which Giroux had a 93 point Season. So what do you think that list was based on? His offense or his defense? Do you think if a revised list was put out today, that Giroux would still be 3rd? You've taken the list completely out of context, and tried to offer it up as proof that he's a top 2 way player in the League.

There is no doubt that he was beat up.. he got hurt over in Germany if I remember correctly (seems like a decade ago). Regardless, I dont think there is a single person that honestly believes that he was a top 5 talent in the league last season...

i've long since removed myself over arguing in here...especially of the kinds we're witnessing today. nobody ever really changes their mind. pissing opinions contests between a mix of loose facts and emotion. besides, i generally don't give a (frank) what others think about who's what kind of player, good, bad, whatever.

I think he is a top end talent. I think he is one of the best stars in the game. But that doesnt mean he doesnt have room to improve.. Thats my point. There are a bunch of players I would take over Giroux. But that doesnt mean he is a star himself.

i don't assume that. i'd like him to return, but my gut says he ends up being a 1-2 year rental player to a variety of teams for the next 5 years. i sure hope not.
