I really believe the Devils will be a better team without Kovalchuk. They will be a closer knit team and roll four lines that will work as hard as any team in the league and will win a lot of one goal games, low scoring mind you but the goals against will likely come down. Not as colorful or exciting but will get results from hard work and solid goaltending.

True, but things change. Briere-Leino-Hartnell lost it after one year of dominating the pp. Simmonds could well be the first pp unit again but Vinny will likely replace either Simmonds or Harts on the first unit.

Two things to consider. Schneider is young and should be the number one but Marty will not hand it to him and therefore he could bounce back with a vengence and have a very solid year. And if he sucks he will likely retire.
