Thats like not putting Richards on PK, if you have a player thats superb at killing penalties, you use him. - GOA88
Sure if the situation dictates. A tie, or one goal game with a key defensive zone faceoff on the PK I want Giroux out there. If they Flyers are winning or losing 5-1 in the third period then having Giroux out there doesn't make much sense. You will run him into the ground doing that. |

Giroux's better offensively than Richards, though. I'm in favor of translating some of those PK minutes to offensively favorable ones for Giroux. - BulliesPhan87
I see your point, but G has shown that he can handle the work load just fine and as a result we have one of the best PP AND PK in the league. |

I agree with that |

Yeah, therein lay the rub. I'm cautiously optimistic that a better mix of talents on the blueline can at least get us a little closer to that kind of cohesive team play. - BulliesPhan87
I think this team could be 100 point team if things break right. I honestly wouldn't be shocked if they were a top 4 seed, or if they missed the playoffs. Lots of variables. |

If I was being biased I would say he is the best, Im not implying that at all, I have 2 eyes and a brain and can clearly see the things he does on the ice. I believe that as a complete package. He is one of the top 5 players in the league |

After last season, I can share that uncertainty. The talent is there, though.
Is it hockey season yet? |

I think we can all agree that Giroux is the best flyers forward we have had since Lindros, and thats exciting. We havent really had any real superstars since. |

Well if you clearly see the things on the ice that he does. You'd be aware of the times he is out of position or loses his check in the defensive zone. And you'd see the areas defensively that he needs to improve on. |

The team as a whole are responsible for that. Giroux or anyone else for that matter cant do everything. - GOA88
To some extent, but if Fedetenko's defensive play can make him a +8, and Giroux's defensive game is supposed to be so awesome, and with Giroux being on the ice for so many more goals for than Federenko, you'd think his +/- would at least get into that area. You'd think it'd at least be better than Hartnell's |

Maybe Forsberg's first year here could be argued. I've never seen another player quite like him. But yes, Giroux's an exceptionally skilled player and a legit superstar. |

8000 points
82 games
20 minutes per game
That's 4.8 points per minute on the ice or 97.5 points per game
nice... |
