8000 points
82 games

That's 4.8 points per minute on the ice or 97.5 points per game
nice... - leon neon
Easy. But he'll never be as good defensively as Claude "Selke" Giroux. |

To some extent, but if Fedetenko's defensive play can make him a +8, and Giroux's defensive game is supposed to be so awesome, and with Giroux being on the ice for so many more goals for than Federenko, you'd think his +/- would at least get into that area. You'd think it'd at least be better than Hartnell's - JAKEw1234
I really wouldn't lean on +/- to compare those players. Fedotenko was used as a defensive specialist for sure, but being on the top line Giroux faced other teams' top lines with regularity. At least, that's what it seems like without looking at the numbers. |

The Flyers have about, idk, 4-5 guys on the team that are better defensively. Thats just on our team alone. - jak521

Hartnell, no. Federenko, yes. That's not a rip on Giroux, Rusty is a solid defensive player. I'm saying if he was so awesome defensively, he wouldve had a better +/- in spite of the rest of the team's play. That's what Kimmo, LSchenn, and Fedetenko all managed to do |

I suppose you expect him to be perfect.... Even Datsyuk loses his man sometimes - GOA88
Just stop.
When Datsyuk loses his man its a rarity.
Giroux loses his man, fails to backcheck, misses his assignment and makes low % passes trying to leave his own zone consistently..
We all believe it is an aspect of his game that needs improvement...except you apparently.
We also all believe it is an aspect of his game that will improve.

I think the phrase I head about Harris from someone in the press was that Harris might be business smart, but he's sports dumb with this move.
I'm interested to see what he's playing at here. I don't think simply owning the Devils is the end game. I would love to know if the sale of the Devils franchise includes the building they play in too. - johndewar
i believe it does. the devils have been a money pit for years, so i have to think this includes the Rock. |

If I was being biased I would say he is the best, Im not implying that at all, I have 2 eyes and a brain and can clearly see the things he does on the ice. I believe that as a complete package. He is one of the top 5 players in the league - GOA88

Kinda hard to judge a player on +/- when the team as a whole was a loser and Bryz is your goalie. |

I know technically it's not, but it feels like a conflict of interests to me. I could give a rats ass about the NBA, haven't watched games since Jordan retired, but there is something wrong with owning a Philadelphia sports franchise, and the Devils. |

Thats why Giroux has been ranked as one of the best defensive forwards in the game, top 10. This isnt just my opinion, but players in the league that take votes and PROFESSIONAL hockey analyst who arent drinking the orange kool-aid. |

I think we can all agree that Giroux is the best flyers forward we have had since Lindros, and thats exciting. We havent really had any real superstars since. - GOA88
sorry, but i put a healthy forsberg ahead of giroux. granted that was only for about 10 minutes, but still. |

Not a fan of that at all. Where did you see this? |
