All you have to do is pm me or any other ref and we will handle it. Mods here have day jobs and cannot be here all the time so we ask members here to let us know when things escalate in any blog or through reported posts.

I have been moderating the oilers on a more consistent basis lately and have a better feel now of who is causing problems.

- For those of you keeping track, the Oilers have 49 contracts currently, only one away from the cap of 50. However, under the new CBA, certain contracts don't count against the number...Because I'm not smart and I'm too lazy to read the new CBA, I can't tell you which Oilers contracts wouldn't count against the cap number. I'm guessing players who are not playing pro hockey don't count. So guys like Darnell Nurse and Jujhar Khaira who will likely play in junior this season would not count. Regardless if they do or don't, the Oilers might need to off-load a contract or two at some point, hence why I believe Potter and Larsen are on the way out.

- Interesting Oilers hiring of Bob Green to be the Director of Amateur Free Agent Scouting. Apparently, there are four quality NCAA prospects coming up this Spring, and the Oilers want to obtain at least one of them.


We are at 47 last I checked. Capgeek shows the EL SR for anyone that wants to look.

I have no idea if Bob Green is going to be any good at his new job, but this is a major hole left for the OilKings, hopefully he doesn't leave to big of a void

But I think that's what you're looking for here in the go-ahead: a higher standard for everyone.

I don't get the outright dismissal of Philip Larsen. This is a 23 year old kid who just finished his second NHL season (first "full" season). Did he do well last year? Not really. Did he do well the year before? For a rookie season, yeah, actually, he did. Not everyone can be Taylor Hall and go guns blazing right out of the gates. Give him some time to develop before just dumping him for nothing. You never know what a change of scenery, change of coaches, and change of system can do for a young player.

i'm pretty sure the point of the blog was so that you wouldn't make fun of his man boobs!

Always felt there should be a better representation for MODs. There seem to be a small handful that actually go to "other teams" blogs and kick out the losers, while the other tend to stick to their favourite team and boot out people who don't say they are awesome. Blogs like Richards which draws huge comments and hits should be monitored much more than it is.

I have inquired before about becoming a MOD, but never have received an explanation to how to go about it. I love intense hockey discussion, but personal insults and poor taste photos don't have a spot here. This coming from a guy who rolls his eyes at about 90% of what Richard writes.

Pretty much have to agree. If Dallas wasn't willing to give up a 7th round draft pick until 2026 (or whatever) then Larsen was a contract dump we had to accept.
