Ask anybody on this site what they think of Hemsky
He did literally the exact same thing. Although it might have been 8 games
EDIT: I may be way off. It may have been like 15GP. Was hemsky's foot injury against DET or NSH? - TheNugeIsHuge
“I had it for a little while,” said the 29-year-old winger, who’s been on the limp since March 7. “I blocked a shot in Detroit on the big road trip. It’s been a struggle since then.”
that just seems extremely stupid to play that long when you are already known to be injury prone...same could be said for Kesler but he is no where near at the level of being injury prone as Hemsky is... |

Fun fact: RNH had more hits than Hall in 5 less games this year. Also more hits than Toews, Thornton, and the Sedins and more than double Vanek and Hossa.
The fun stuff you learn on the internet. |

"Eberle, Hall, Perron, Yakupov, Gagner and Nugent-Hopkins – my first reaction, that's a real talented top-6. My second reaction, is that top-6 going to hold up in the hard hitting, tight checking, "big boys" division? I honestly doubt it."
nothing about hemsky or kesler.
what I assume he means by not being able to hold up in the hard hitting division is their inability to stay healthy. I didn't think he meant how is Yak gonna compete when he has 41 hits to Perry's 49 this year - TheNugeIsHuge
Ok then I'll just show you the difference in hits on the 2nd line of both the Canucks and Oilers alone
In a total of 1524 games, the projected 2nd line of Booth/Kesler/Burrows have dealt 961 hits
In a total of 802 games, the projected 2nd line of Perron/Gagner/Yakupov have dealt 315
Now are you seeing why the Oilers are considered soft comparing to the rest of the division? Canucks aren't even considered that much of a tough team yet they have nearly twice the amount of hits than the Oilers...Yakupov is the only one that has the chance to become a hard hitting player... |

I guess you didn't see my point. I don't care about hits. I consider someone like Markov and Crosby to be soft because they miss a lot of games and can't get back into game action.
Soft to you means hits.
If you read my previous post. RNH had more hits than Toews did this year. Does that make Toews softer than RNH? Hell no. RNH is currently softer than baby sh*t. Not saying anywhere EDM isn't soft because they have been. Can't see EDM being soft as a selling point for VAN having better Fs because they also have a "soft" top 6 |

I'll give you that one, but lets look at the durability of the first lines
41 missed games - daniel sedin - in 12 years
10 missed games - henrik sedin - in 12 years
47 missed games - zack kassian - in 2 years (due to not cracking the line up)
13 missed games - jordan eberle - in 3 years
28 missed games - RNH - in 2 years (was due to injury not because he didnt crack the line up)
41 missed games - taylor hall - in 3 years (again was due to injury not because he didn't crack the line up)
Kassian has 149 hits in 2 partial seasons
hall has 116 hits in 3 partial seasons
RNH has 65 hits in 2 and a half seasons
eberle has 108 hits in most of 3 seasons
So although the Sedins are 2 of the least hitting guys in the league, can you say that you have 2 guys on the Oilers who have more durability? No? I didn't think so...toughness comes in a lot of forms, and the Oilers haven't got any of them...and I am proving that by showing you the stats |

So stats would show that Kesler is one of the least tough guys in the league then

since when has RNH played 2.5 seasons?
again. read my previous post. Some EDM players are soft. Some VAN players are also soft. Difference is EDM is ranked 5th because they're soft and VAN 3rd because.. |

Um actually it would show that Kesler is one of the hardest to play against in the league...he has played in 82% of his games in his career and thrown more hits than anyone in the Oilers top 6... Oilers logic, gotta love it... |

Previous 2 seasons.
RNH 65 hits in 102 games
Toews 56 hits in 106 games
You can make the stats work for you however you want. VAN has a soft top 6 too. Can't say EDM has a bottom tier F core because they're soft, but VAN doesn't because they're also soft |

Uh the oilers are considered soft and the canucks are not considered as soft as that because the Canucks players in general do not miss the amount of games that the Oilers have been doing in their respective careers and the Canucks players deliver more hits than them also?
the team that deals more hits and has more durability = tougher team |

can't really compare over long careers considering EDM's top 6 has an average age of like 21-22-23. Few seasons under their belts.
I can tell you this past season everyone in EDM's current top 6(MPS out Perron in), there was a total of 11 missed games. 69 missed games by VAN. 78 if you include Kassian(making the team) |

Now you're not even comparing the Canucks to the Oilers because you cant do that, the Canucks deliver more hits and miss less games in general
and now since we're comparing RNH and Toews in general...lets look at missed games...
RNH has missed 28 games and Toews has missed 24...So basically you're right, RNH is as soft as Toews in general...and they may actually have very similar careers...but if you start comparing the Chicago Blackhawks entire roster to the Oilers in terms of toughness...you'd lose out again... |

We must only think it. Criticizing will come if we say outlandish stuff like that.
Although Datsyuk did miss 30 games in his first 2 seasons too. Dastyuk lite and just their playing styles |
