I've watched my team go to the Stanley Cup finals just as many times as you have in the last 8 years.

1 Elite as (frank) player, 1 really good dude, 1 kid with a bad shoulder, a 19 yr old that wasn't even a 60 goal scorer and some kid from college.

Exactly how have the Canucks been more successful than the Oilers. The only thing that really matters in the grand scheme of things is Stanley Cups and last I counted we're up 5-0 despite you having 10 years on us.

Teams rebuild. They have a solid core that gets old and moves on leaving an empty shell. Then the team sucks and has to build through the draft. In about 3 years Vancouver will be doing the same thing when the Sedins have fallen apart. Luongo finally killed Gillies, Kesler has retired to join the American Olympic Diving team and they are left with Kassian and Schroder.

Plenty to prove? Anahiem's top five has 2 goalies. Washington has green who played his last full season during the great depression. Then you picked another one of their non existent Dmen and Johanssen? I just can't agree. Montreal has a better 5. They arguably have a better 5 than Ottawa. If we are letting Drouin into this then Colorado might have a better five with Duchene, Lands, ROR, Parenteau and Mackinnon. However Edmontons top 5 of Eberle, Hall, RNH, Yak and Schultz has to be considered. I will give you other teams having 2 players are good but the last 3 drop off significantly. Detroit, Vancouver, Washington, Philly, Ottawa, Min, LA... All have 2 or three good players. Zibjobob for the sens is doing nothing, Kesler had a terrible season, Druin - Hedman and carle would never be traded straight across for any of the 3 of the oilers I mentioned. I would be surprised if they going get two, Bouwmestier and steen? really? Kronwall and Howard? Cunitz? You could but eager on a line with Crosby and Malking and he would get 60 points too.

For the Penguins he's top, top 5 defensmen in the nhl, no way. Besides did you see his play against the Islanders and Bruins. Didn't do very well.

Top 5: Jonathan Quick, Drew Doughty, Mike Richards, Jeff Carter and Anze Kopitar
You can understand why this team won a cup. Quick is perhaps the best goalie in the world right now. Doughty can play like the best defenseman, and Kopitar when he is healthy is impossible to contain. Richards and Carter might be ass-hats off the ice, and they don't always show up. Just in the playoffs, when winning actually matters. Great group of five.

Top 5 Players - Erik Karlsson, Jason Spezza, Bobby Ryan, Craig Anderson and Mika Zibanejad
Ah, the first to include a player not for what they've done, but because of what's to come. Zibanejad is going to be an absolute force this season. Big, gifted, gritty...Love this kid. If I was coaching Team USA at the Olympics, I'd put Anderson in net. Karlsson is the best defenseman in hockey. Adding Ryan is going to make up for the loss of Alfredsson and then some.
