I wasn't around much for most of the early part of summer. How was the Perron trade seen by the Oilers fans? I thought it was a good and necessary move by the team.

wasn't a huge fan of it. I think pretty highly of MPS. I also think perron benefitted playing in a great org in STL.

I felt the same way when the Leafs got Versteeg and Bolland. More of a product of a solid team than actually being a solid a player. Hopefully Bolland works out for us, but Versteeg sure didn't.

Bottom 6 is sh*t. Perron's an upgrade..for now. I feel like playing in STL on a line with 6'4 2alot Backes makes it easier to produce. I'll be giddy to be eating my words if Perron is lights out next year.

also. STL was in a hole, and EDM gave them full value to get out of it. Take advantage of the market MacT. He should've offered MPS alone. No pick. Not like they'd have gotten another offer that has a young stud that immediately replaces the missing player for 2+M cheaper

I think he's established that he's a capable #7F with a chance at being a 2LW. Don't forget Perron played on one of the best managed/coached teams in the league. MPS played for the EDM oilers.

I think it's a good trade if EDM was gonna compete this year. I don't see it happening.
