Really? they are currently better than 12 teams with games in hand on many above and below.

Pretty sure you said they were the worst team in the NHL by a country mile and it was stupid to think otherwise. All I said was that it would be unlikely they get the 1st pick and right now its VERY unlikely they get the first pick.

oh and since you last posted, it went from 12 worse teams, to 4 worse teams than the flames, they are on track to be a top 5 pick... getting worse as the season goes on

Which is what we expected all along....it's called a rebuild....I fully embrace the rebuild and if it helps with having a god awful year or two and lottery picks to help the rebuild then I am fine with that....as long as it isn't like the Oiler rebuild.

By the way, how well would your team do with the injuries to your top players like the Flames are experiencing?

Thanks I needed that laugh...Flames do not have top players...they have a bunch of 3rd and 4th liners...the last time Kesler and Daniel Sedin were out with injury in prior years, the Canucks did fine...sad excuse there...

And your Canucks are basically injury free now....and how well are they doing? Oh...I know....9th in the conference. Wouldn't even make the playoffs if they started today. Talk about sad excuses....at least Flames fans knew going in that wasn't happening due to the rebuild....what is your sad reason for that?

At 26 Kris Russell is suddenly playing like a top pairing defenseman in front of the (kinda) hometown crowd. Is this atmosphere what he needed to reach the next level permanently? Or is this just an aberration?

If Russell is the real deal, getting him re-upped now for a quality rate would be a big boon in the rebuild process. He's in the final year of a 1.5 million contract in a relatively scant UFA dman crop.

Given that the Flames are far more likely to get a top 5 pick (nearly a given now) you should be the one concerned about that...
