I don't mind this new blogger, but surely he could come up a new alias that's better than "Nhl Buzz".

Kipper alone got the flames to the post season a few times doing this. Once there, anything can happen. Didn't the 8th seed in the west win it a couple years ago???

That's not actually my alias. Eklund's doing a competition of sorts to determine who will be the new blogger and all the blogs from the different bloggers trying out are being posted under NHL Buzz. Once he picks the new blogger there'll be a better alias.

Well Dubs will never be Kipper. Not many of them around, the teams defence needs improvment, and when they have those close games the offence needs to help him out a bit to. It goes both ways.

Hey since you and laughs are neighbors, can you go over to his house and see if he is still alive? I am worried with his lack of presence here, that he may have masturbated one too many times over the weekend, and suffered a CVA. He may just be really tired from it all, and can't type on the keyboard, but either way could you check please.

He's on ban, should be back soon I believe.

In one post you have already surpassed Cloutier.

Well written and a good topic.

If you do get the job just try to ignore the trolls better than Cloutier. I think that was his major downfall and why he ultimately couldn't handle blogging anymore.

Spelling and grammar perfection is not a sign of intelligence or writing skills. This is a blog. If this was a newspaper or book, editors would fix that stuff up.

Yak is a weak choice but having him on the list doesn't hurt anything and gives the trolls something to chew on.

I think Hall is the obvious, over the top choice for captain.

The Oilers are gambling Eakins is the guy that will take this team into the playoffs and win. The only reason not to name Hall captain is if they don't have enough confidence in Eakins. Having a rookie coach and young captain can be a bad combination. Of course if both do well, as they are expected, it's even better.

I kind of expect the Oilers to name Ference captain just because its the safe choice.

It's usually 1 captain and 3 assistants? Do they rotate A's or keep them through the year?

I would have Hall captain & Ferrence, Smid, and Eberle assistant captains.

Great first blog. My choice for the next captain of the Oilers is Taylor Hall. It does worry me a bit that he may have a bad reputation with the refs, but I still think he's the best one for the job.

I would maybe switch out Ferrence or Smid for Gagner, but those look good to me.

Thanks for the encouragement and advice. That's pretty much who I would pick too for the captains except I would switch up Smid for Gagner, but Smid deserves a spot too.

This is going to be just about it for Souray. 37, torn ligament in wrist, which is already made of cheap glass.

Good article, well written, I like hall as the next captain. The oilers have always chose that gutsy player like moreau and gator and horcs but they were never great captains (Except maybe gator) so they should go with that crazy skilled player who will be around for years to come like hall or eberle.
