I'm an engineering major and I still have to right insane amounts of reports. I thought I wouldn't have to write so much either going into a math heavy major, but dear god. Writing nearly trippled from high school.

It may be in one of your electives at some point, but typically this is something they would have in the first year. Are you going to the U of S or the U of R? Is it a 2 or 4 year program?

This does make sense though, there is a poop ton of theory to go with the math involved in an engineering degree. Sometimes Universities don't put English courses in with some programs, simply because they expect the students to already know it. The kid could be in for a surprise.

No poop eh. I was 16 years removed from high school when I started, so it was a complete shock to me. I just figured that now there would be more taught about it at the grade 12 level. I still (frank)ing hate it though.
