Isles while improved, I dont find that they improved more than the other teams...status quo for me. Columbus I give a big MEH too...possibly scratching for 8th with 2 others.

hard to argue with your picks though. could easily Mtl or Toronto bumped out by NYI. and Columbus will be a handful if Bryzgalov is for real. East is gonna be a dogfight beyond Boston and Pittsburgh.

I wouldnt say a Huge upgrade, of course Aflredson is trending down as he is 40, but he was their best player in the playoffs. They were almost identical in g/a/p last season

That said I think they finish a few spots ahead of the leafs

i think over 82 games it's a pretty significant upgrade. agree on Ryan having a down year last year but look at the previous 4 years before that. a significantly more productive goal scorer. he's now entering his prime. maybe the Sens lose out on intangibles or whatever (though i never saw Aldredssson as any kind of leader) but IMO a very significant upgrade and only had to give up Silfverberg off the roster. they need to sign Cowen though. he's a big piece.

I don't see Philly as being any better than last year considering, IMO, that their D and goalie aren't very good. I don't see Mason having a good time behind that defense and Emery is good but I feel he will have a year kind of like Gigueres last year in Toronto.

thought i was a high roller.. everyone else had commodore 64s

based on what? they're finally healthy, and they replaced Alfredsson with Bobby Ryan-huge upgrade there. even if their goaltending is 75% of what it was last year, they're a lock for the playoffs.

I just don't think they can rely on their tenders as much as they have the last couple years - just my opinion - last couple years they were expected to fail now they are healthy - there will be more pressure - I think T.O. IF Kadri and Franson get signed have put together a real solid line up.
