I was 85% done a desk I bought and one of the biggest pieces 2'x5' was missing. Called the damn company to get one shipped to me and the guy says "Sorry, what was the problem with this piece again, I have to write something down". It was invisible, I said.

What he was saying is he should have complianced Liles and Grabs and done a regular buyout of Komi. That would have fixed this entire mess. Why would you compliance a guy with one year left? Makes no sense.

I always felt that GMs did that to say, youre not quite there but keep it up and you will be earning that 5M paycheck you want rather than making it 4M right away for five years. Keeps them interested maybe? I dont know...

It's a matter of recognizing talent. The 4 a year type deal is great if you see the talent - like Kessel. He has been a steal the last two years. So the question becomes, will Kadri be a steal at 4, 4.5 in 3 years? I would say yes.

I thought the Habs should have locked him up long term unless maybe they don't want him long term or were unsure???
