Bingo. - Gunslinger
When it comes down to, and i know some guys disagree, which is fine, I think you try and move Dion, try and pick up a stay at home guy in return along with anything else. I know some guys see this as a backwards move but I think it makes sense, especially long term with the young guys coming up. |

Damn! Lamerello needs a good kick in the a$$! He needed to hold the line with the Leafs, Sabres and Rangers. Who's next Stepan? If one of the other three sign long term, then the rest will expect the same. Too bad the Leafs couldn't sign Franson to a one year deal on the cheap and have a long term deal in their back pocket starting the next year. Good luck with that one. We need both of these players in our back pocket, going into the season. If Liles can't be moved, we vote Kulimen off of the island. Third liners can be found for less. If he does get moved, then maybe we can later move Liles for another 3rd liner with a similar cap hit that needs to be moved. |

Kadri is for real. He will only get better. - Barx
Regardless of where he ends up, RFAs with his track record simply do not get paid big time. They get bridge deals.
He could turn out to be the next Wayne Gretzky, but there's no way he's got the leverage to demand anything more than 3.5 on a bridge deal at this point.
He can have 4 mil per year if he's willing to eat up some UFA years. |

Should have, but probably couldn't. Nonis knew he was going to be in tight and is trying to bring these guys down a million or so. |

There is no right or wrong, I just think Franson is the better player. |

Franson is coming of a pretty cheap bridge contract as it is, no? |

Hmmmm, I fail to see to see that working. Give money to Gunner in hopes of reducing the price for Franson? |

Oh yah, Gunnar was an RFA as well wasn't he.
I guess Franson has been asking for to much right from the start maybe? |

Yup Franson gets a long term deal regardless and seems like the type to hold his ground IMO. Who knows, someone might throw an offer sheet. I really like him stepping up in the playoffs, he should get a good contract this time around. With all the UFA's after this year it might make sense to move the captain, again my opinion. |

Based on how he has improved I'de give Franson 4.5 a year in a heart beat. Top four, can score, and is pretty solid at the toughest time, playoffs. |

That could be. Thing is, Franson made about 100k less than Gunnarson last year and emerged as a better player at the end of the season. Can't fault the guy for wanting more than him. |

Hard to say, but if it were me, my limit would be 4 million tops. |

I see him as a top pairing guy in maybe two years the way he's improved. RC does nice work with d-men, I just like what I see. If he was a little meaner with his size he'de be a very good player, and although he hasn't played too much against top lines, again, IMO i think he's well on his way. |

We are not getting both for under 5.

Probably so. Either Liles or Kulimen have to be moved. Neither is as important as Kadri and or Franson.

They just signed Gunnar. Kulemin has a better chance of being traded than Liles. We don't have the depth at G to trade Reimer...not sure if this post is serious or not...so much wrong with it. |

you must have missed the Henrique signing....that was kinda the point.
RFA's with his track record do indeed get long term deals.
