Hey...for all we know the Leafs are trying to get him locked up long term and he wants a short term deal.

All I know is that this time last year Leaf fans would have screamed blue murder if we knew he'd asked for 4m. He's like Kadri...he's only shown his real value for one year. It seems unfair...I agree about that...but that's the rules under the CBA that his union negotiated.

Isles aren't the only team...there's a few...I think the league should revamp the way they give out draft picks...giving favours to teams that shoot for the bottom. Maybe the team that finishes 9th should get the 1st pick and 30th overall should get 10th pick or something along those lines!!!!

Pitts - Malkin/Crosby/Staal/cant remember the other 1...4 years in a row...
