Sieloff hasn't scored more than 4 goals in a season at any level...
- AdamFrench

lol...I specifically said aside from his point totals...and...here are both of their first years playing in the O/W...

Sieloff
2012-13 Windsor Spitfires OHL 45 3 8 11 85 (translates to 16pts and 126PIM in 67games)

Phaneuf
2001-02 Red Deer Rebels WHL 67 5 12 17 170

Dion played with an edge in Jr, wonder what happened to him.. Gone soft.

Ya...but that is misleading.

That is Phaneuf at 16 vs Sieloff at 19...

Here is Phanuef's season that would link up at the same age.

Sieloff is a hard hitting, shutdown guy who can skate and add offense...thats why I compared the two. Similar styles, similar builds...difference will be the point totals as Phaneuf is stronger in offense department it seems.

Fair point, but only to an extent...a guys first year in the O/W is relatively the same whether they are 16(he was going on 17) or 19(Sieloff just turned 19)...so theres just over a year's difference in age but your first year at that level is still comparable around that age. Hard to argue otherwise imo...

Common...you're going off stats from ONE year in the OHL...his first year at that...but Ive watched footage of this kid and his skating and presense on the ice reminds me of Phaneuf. Its obv early to really say, but that who came to mind when I watched him.

I would not mind, if Dion gave up a few points to get his mean streak back.

Scouting report:

Sieloff is tough, stay-at-home defenseman with a bit of offensive upside to his game. He is solidly built and isn't afraid to make use of his size or drop the gloves on occasion. But Sieloff is not just a goon as he is already a very good defender in his own zone and has the ability to at least get plays started from his own end of the ice. He is an effective penalty killer and has some leadership skills to go along with his grit.
