Seriously, there aren't many spots available for rookies. Maybe someone could take Ryan White's spot.
- Pecafan Fan

But what would be the point of putting a rookie on the fourth line, unless he is that type of player. Do the habs even have a rookie that can bring physicality in the bottom 6?

If a rookie stands out you give him a chance over one of the mighty midgets, and send the midget to the press box, but i doubt anyone stands out

Anyone in particular you think has a shot at cracking the line up?
- pete26

Not really, even if Bergevin says that he will make room if someone looks ready. I don't see how he can.

My guess is that Dumont will make the team because Gionta won't be ready for the home opener.

Also, I think Leblanc will have a great camp. He really looked good at the development camp. If he doesn't make the team, he at least needs to make a statement.

Gionta had the other bicep torn, is that correct? and wasn't it a miracle that he recovered from the first one? Maybe Briere was hired to replace Gionta incase he has to retire.

Gionta says he is feeling good, says recovery from the last operation is going well and should be ready in October, if not for the 1st game, shortly after.

I hope so. Because I don't think they have rookies that could play in the top 6

I thought Dumont played well enough to replace a guy like White, who, as we could witness last season, can cost the team when he gets too... emotional.

I think a healthy rotation of White/Dumont is fine for the 4th line.

That's how he got drafted in the first place. Playing against younger competition for most of his minor hockey.
