.......Who would you compare him too then. Is Karlsson better? Subban? OEL? what do you think he should get. - Marshalle
I think Pietroangelo should get a transitional contract like Subban. Right now I see Alex Pietroangelo as a 5 million per year player like an Alex Edler, I think both there games are comparable as they both leave you wanting a little more but have the ability in a good year to score 50 points. If Pietroangelo had proven he was a 6 to 7 million dollar player, the Blues would have no problem locking him up long term. Problem is the Blues arnt convinced. Its up to Pietroangelo to prove him self that he's elite, sofar he obviously hasn't. More potential and hype then anything. He is no Keith, Doughty, Letang or Weber. |

I think Pietrangelo will turn out to be as good if not better than Bouwmeester was projected to be. A+ skating, defensive awareness and positioning, offense developing from above average to elite. Not an overtly physical player, but has the ability when needed. A leader. As I say this I realize that he would be worth 4 1sts. - Marshalle
Boumeester will still go down as one of the best skating Dman ever. In the end. pietro isnt going anywhere. Fool who things Liles and Franson gets you Pietro + is on dope. |

If I was the Flyers, I'd offer up Morin, Hagg, Laughton, and our next two 1sts for Pietrangelo. I'd consider substituting Schenn for Laughton if we were then able to keep next years 1st (draft in Philly) and throw in a 2nd. St. Louis definitely wouldn't accept it (unless they're at a desperate impasse in negotiations), but it's gonna take a package of blue chip prospects/young performers/multiple high picks for the Blues to even consider the deal. He's a franchise defenseman, even if he had a down year.
They'll get a deal done, but I can dream of Pietrangelo in orange and black. |

A deal with Philly would have to start with Both Schenns id imagine. STL seems to like that LH and RH shot dman pairs. |

He is better, far better, than Edler already. And he already is mentioned in the company of the rest of them. As an aside Letang does not belong in that group. |

Alex Pietroangelo better be better then Jay Boumeester, Boumeester is not very good, he's like a 20 point player who cant even play on the PP anymore. Boumeester may be one of the most overhyped, overated, overpaid defensman over the last 10 years. Dan Hamhuis is a much better overall defensman then Jay Boumeester for 2 million per year less. |

I think we can all agree on one thing, Pietrangelo has not established himself as an "elite" defenseman as of yet. He is however, a very talented young dman. What ever happened to earning your contract?
Claude Giroux came off a 78 point season in 82 games and signed a bridge contract, he kept up the pace and was rewarded with a life time deal. Guys like Pietrangelo, Hodgson and Kadri should do the same. |

Ask Annoyance what he thinks. Hodgson is no longer a Canuck, and Kadri is a Leaf so it should be interesting. |

You're opinion is one, no one that I know of, including NHL people, call Petro an elite talent. If the Blues thought he was, they'd have locked him up long term already. |

Regarding Kadri, I don't blame him for wanting a great deal, everyone wants more. But, if he lets this become a distraction and he misses any time at camp, he's getting bad advice! |

He had a good half a (frank)ing season. I love hearing how great Beauchemin is because he's turned his career around to top something Norris candidate. |

And thats where the overrated part comes in. And your wrong, he hasnt proven himself "far better" then Edler, give me a break, at best on par. Ill tell you your wrong. Hype is a mirage, Canadian player, high draft pick, its called overrated. A 4 round Swede for the 'most hated team', that player is underated usually. I could care less what 'people are saying'. Letang is in that group definitely without question, I question your hockey knowledge. |
