Good point. Gillis said a couple years ago that every team needs about 2 players each year to step up and have career years (I may have paraphrased a little). The Canucks will need that this year. We have a few guys who fit the bill and will need at least 2 of them to step up. Kassian, the 3rd line center (Schroeder, Gaunce, Horvat, whoever fills the role), Santorelli (3rd line center maybe?), Corrado, even Weber.

To me Kassian stands out as the key out of the bunch. He has the most promise and also happens to be the same age going into this season as CoHo was going into last season when he broke out offensively.

Agreed. To put it bluntly I have questioned his...er...intelligence at times but his potential is undeniable. Good coaching should be able to bring that out. I hope. anyway. Anyway he's the biggest unknown for me heading into this season.

True the kid can mature. As far as intelligence goes you have it or you don't its the same in every other league out there. Its funny your post made me think of Goon. Stupid movie but it made me laugh at times.

I have to agree - and I even went into it without any expectations whatsoever. I think it's about time, however, that someone managed to again capture the same sort of brilliance we saw in Slapshot. Perhaps we should get all the Vancouver Hockey-Buzz denizens and produce our own? (for those of you with wives/girlfriends, please forward noodies* of such, so we can cast accordingly )

I don't think Ian has the time to keep up. I'm sure this isn't any bloggers sole income earner. Guys have to keep busy to pay the bills. Work gets in the way. I'm sure Ek is accommodating to all these guys and their other projects.
