Tell that to teams with excellent development programs. The ones that seem to stay on top of the league despite drafting low every year as a result of yearly playoff appearances. Fittingly, Detroit is probably the best example of a team like that. Show me one team in the league that has done a better job developing players over the last decade. A lot of that credit likely goes to Ken Holland as much as the various staff he has had in supporting roles.
It's hugely important. If you can't develop your picks/prospects, have fun overpaying in free agency. - KJohnson
LA Kings, Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins have all done well with home grown talent. Maybe not better, but very well. |

Is Gary Roberts an option? If so, he has my vote. If nothing else it'd mean more of our guys getting into his biosteel camps. I don't really see how he'd be any less likely to accept the job than Chelios either. - 22sedins33
Pretty sure he's making mad coin in the gym. |

Nope, take a look at their roster. Bruins only have a couple of their own picks on the roster. They've mostly built that team through trades and signings. |

Draft anddeveloped. Does that not include Lucic, Marchand, Bergeron, Boychuck, Krecji (sp?), Hamilton, McQuaid and the recently departed Seguin? |

Ian Esplen: Gagner out, Chelios in?
Gagner out, Chelios in? - IanEsplen
Chelios has done everything....but he is a massive douche. Cant stand him....so....he would be a perfect fit in Vancouver. |

If AV was still coaching this team I would suggest offering the job to Richard Simmons. |

Chelios would never leave Detroit to work for a losing organization. Kristy Clark could be player development. Losers teaching losers. |
