Yeah I think he will be a good fit, though I feel like he might take away from what Feaster has already done. Steal some of his thunder if you will. - Colin Dambrauskas
Sorta like Burke did with JFJ. He brought in some pretty good pieces to the team, not all playing for the Leafs anymore, but most playing in the NHL. |

No I dont remember honestly, thought it was smaller...hmm
Oh, yeah just saying, I knew I was going tonight but I managed to fit in two other games as well!
And no worries...just extending an invite, cant make it...more beer for us (yes...for some reason I figure you coming would mean less beer for the rest of us...it makes perfect sense...) |

What's your outlook Colin? Serious question. - A_Tree
simplest answer would be(from my blog):
There are several reports at the moment which suggest that the Flames are in legitimate conversations with former Leafs GM Brian Burke about a position in Calgary.
The rumour was first broken by Bruce Dowbiggin of the Globe & Mail and furthered by reporter Chris Johnston from Sportsnet who added that "there appears to be a little fire with this smoke" when speaking about the rumour.
At first, it appeared the conversation could have been toward Burke coming in to replace Jay Feaster as GM, however with further research I found that the position of interest could in fact be as the team's CEO currently held by Ken King. Many fans have been calling for King`s head and the Flames may have listened.
Since leaving Toronto, Burke has been scouting with the Anaheim organization in addition to helping out with the selection of the 2014 USA Olympic team.
Having watched Burke`s moves and directions with the Leafs closely over the past 5 years, I will say that he would be a strong addition to the Flames front office who are starting to rebuild their franchise just like the Leafs were not too long ago...if of course you don't mind untied ties and constant smart-alec comments directed at the media.
If anything else progresses I will update tomorrow morning.
Side note - the thought of Burke being able to purchase a barn close to Lowe would be...interesting!

Hopefully you said something along the lines of "Oh really, that's great. I was kind of hoping to go to the game, but....another time."
Kind of make her feel like she owes you one. Almost like money in the bank. |
