yeah but the safer bet is locking up as much money now for as long as possible..too many things can happen in 2 years, especially in pro sports.

Don't know much about Henrique, but I wouldn't hesitate to give Landeskog a long term money deal either. Doesn't hurt when they made him captain two years into his hockey career i guess.

that's effectively what they are doing with Kadri... and the fan base is turning on him. People started calling him greedy as soon as the Sun said he wants a contract like Tavares, and Kadri hadn't said poop yet.

All he's done is refute the claims the Media has made that he is asking for elite player money out of his ELC.

If I was him I would say (frank) that as well. No one knows what is really going on this negotiation, but if I was kadri you can bet I would want a contract a hell of a lot closer to Henriques than to Subban's from last year.

Kadri will have great difficulty making an argument he's worth more than Bozak right now, given that he is playing behind him.

For sure, but the easy argument is that however much better defensively Henrique is, Kadri is that much better offensively.

This is getting ridiculous. All Kadri keeps saying is that the Media is way off on his contract demands. It isn't bickering.

Of course he's not going to tell the media, or the public, what his demands are, but he seems pretty intent on emphasizing that he's not looking for $5-6M for 5-6 years.

my guess is he wants a contract similar to JVR's, for 4 years which would take him to UFA. (or does he need 5 yrs?)
