Sad but true.

that's why i don't understand people who say Kadri has no leverage. Nonis didn't bring in Bolland and Clarkson only to watch Kadri hold out.

If what Lard Arse is reporting is false, then good on Kadri for standing up to the Smug, "Im the most connected Guy in Hockey".Bobo is Almost as annoying as PM

Ya I found it pretty funny that Bobo tried to defend his information in his next tweets too. I mean it is a little ridiculous of Kadri to get involved but when he says that Mackenzie isn't right and Mackenzie says "well I trust my sources" I think it make Bob look like a complete hack

That part is simple. Bolland won 2 cups. Clarkson was a UFA. Kadri is a young RFA. Big shift in leverage all around.

The Leafs have the $ to sign Kadri, other moves shouldn't matter if they aren't on the same playing field.

The other thing to remember is that Nonis couldn't sit and wait with the two players you mentioned. One might have gotten fed up and signed with another team while the other might have been traded to another team. He did, however, have the luxury of patience when it came to Kadri and used those factors to best build his team.

I, for one, applaud Nonis for not putting all his focus on a non franchise player, and the overall team instead. As should most fans, when it comes to their GM's. While Bolland and Bozak aren't what you should be striving for, it also doesn't mean you let the opportunity to aquire specific talents pass you by.

Exactly. Bob MacKenzies "sources" know what Nazem Kadri wants, not Kadri

I also just watched the TSN video of Mark Masters interviewing Kadri and it may be one of the worst interviews I have ever seen in my life. He stuttered through questions about why Kadri thinks he's worth a multi year deal, just brutal. They should should leave all the rumours and speculation stuff to the pro's (Ek?)

Then that means he should also play hardball like Subban did, no? We're keep hearing that Kadri should go the way of a Subban, but the hold out and stubborness never seems to get thrown into the mix. Silly goofs.

IMO it doesn't help Mackenzie when someone directly involved tells him he's wrong and he defends his stance. It's ok to be wrong, everyone can make mistakes but him defending his position seems a little silly to me

Also, I said it makes him look like a hack. It just sounded very reminiscent to the crap Hockey Insiderrrrr would put out there defending every dumb rumour to the death. I do still think Mackenzie is one of the best in the business

It's not about sides....nor should it be. Both should be able to tweet what they feel is on their minds. The point is, one shouldnt be vilified while the other is exohnerated.

I think Kadri's council probably stepped in and told him to pull it all back in because it is bloody stupid to engage with the media like that

Not while he is in a negotiation. He doesn't owe it to anyone to respond anymore than he did, just because they want him to. Why not force Nonis into playing his cards too? Funny.

Nonis keeps saying the cap restrictions aren't whats holding this up. So why not slag him for not telling the media what the Leafs offered?

exactly - Asking kadri to provide more details without defending his sources would have be the classy thing to do.

The story is about kadri's contract negotiations, not bobo and his sources.

Exactly. Very spot on.

If they want Kadri to reveal details, then why shouldn't "Bobo" reveal his sources?

Oh no I agree with all that. I mean more that he went out and improved the team, and not having Kadri would undermine those improvements.

Because the source is probably Nonis or his assistant and of course Kadri wants 100 million over 5 years, who doesn't
