Let the pathetic whining begin. You sure you're not an Oilers fan? - Marwood
Hey dude, how goes it?
I find it funny most (not all) Nuck fans harp on Flames fans for passing on Shinny but in all honesty didn't 8 to 10 teams also pass on him? |

Of those 8 to 10 teams, they're all kinda like me, not too bright! |

Loved the cross-check by Shinkaruk. Doesn't reflect anything negative about his attitude—show me a player who's never delivered a little chrosscheck to the mid section before...
Exactly. That player doesn't exist.
Hope Meuller's ok, but a little bit of chippiness is exactly what Shinkaruk needs to show.
Bet you were one of these Flames fans before, and immediately after Feaster passed on Shinkaruk;

That flames board was awesome. Guys were ready to commit suicide after that pick. |

You think Corrado makes the team this year?
Not nearly as good as Rielly.... - Byfuglien Ate Me
You think Rielly's makes the team this year? They barely made room for Jake "the next coming of Bobby Orr" Gardiner last year. |

Shinkaruk's gonna get a hat-trick tonight just to shove it in Feaster's ear.

Definitely needs another year of junior. He's too small still. But Patrick Kane did it I guess. - LeftCoaster

Bo impressed most so far. He is BIG. His strength against the other 18 year olds makes him look way bigger. I would like to see how he fares against men before saying he could make it though. He has the hands and the speed. - thundachunk
If Bo really is a man against boys his development will be served better to play in the NHL this season as he can't play in the AHL. Will need a few more games to see though. |

But the fans from those other 8-10 teams weren't yelling at their screen for Feaster to draft him (see the link I posted on the last page), yet 24 hours after the draft he's a bust with attitude issues...
I think Poirier is a good off the board pick, but before the Flames picked him "Hunter [was] a steal who fell into [the Flames'] lap."
Now most harp on him endlessly.
If those fans feel like starting and spreading unfounded criticism, it's fair game to criticize their fickle nature. |

Depends on what happens with Franson.
I'm not saying Corrado isn't a good prospect either.
That's a bit much on the Gardiner thing. |

I'd like to see Jensen with Torts lighting a fire under his ass. I think you'll see a greater sense of urgency from whomever gets invited to main camp. - LeftCoaster
I have serious reservations about Jensen if he can't light a fire under his own ass before main camp. There are no top 9 spots open for a skilled winger. He has to take a job from someone else. Not bringing a better effort at all ends of the ice is going to see him on an early flight to Utica. |

Things are well, my friend. A busy summer but we still got away for 2 amazing camping trips. Looking forward to some changes this season, seeing some new faces and seeing how the Luongo drama unfolds. With the hiring of Burke, the Flames season is going to be far from boring!!The passing on draft picks is an infinite & endlessly boring debate. |

Good to hear. Need guys like that to win. If Gaunce isn't making it this year, will one of Bo or Hunter? - Byfuglien Ate Me
I still think Gaunce or Horvat center the 3rd line this year. I'd love for Hunter to earn a spot too, but I don't think it'll happen this season. |

I'd have him there but it's really hard to say. He's a top 6 D on the team, that's for sure.
But if he's only ends up getting 15 minutes of ice-time, you have to wonder if playing 25-26 minutes a night in the AHL isn't better for him. |

Yah, it's unfair. I think the Flames get most of the ribbing for a few reasons.
1- he's from Calgary
2- the Calgary media made a bit of a stink about it on draft day
3- they are a rival
4- a lot of fans were upset he wasn't selected.
In all honestly, I think there will be 15-18 teams wondering why they didn't take him in about 5 years. |

I still think Franson signs and that doesn't leave much room for Rielly this season. He could earn a spot, but he won't be rushed.
I know too many Leafs fans who were comparing Gardiner to Bobby Orr a year ago. Granted, those feelings have been tempered a little with Gardiner spending the majority of last year in the AHL, but there still seems to be this can't miss future perennial Norris Trophy winner attitude about him.
Excellent prospect. Will be a very good player. But the expectations are just ridiculous. |

I think the Canucks would rather play Gaunce and Horvat than bring Raymond back. I don't think MayRay's back unless he takes under $1M. I'd be happy with him as a 4th liner for $800k. He could be a nice and inexpensive insurance policy in case one of the skilled wingers (Booth for instance) got hurt. Don't see it happening though. |

Yeah I agree with you. I was floored when we passed on him. Once I got back up off the floor I started looking into Poirier and it made me feel somewhat better. |
