Once the Sedins are locked up long term then Gillis will have his core of Luongo and the Sedins to build around. With the distraction of contracts no longer looming, the Cups will come fast and furious for the Canucks. Sedins will retire and then Boho and Shinkaruk will replace them and win more Cups. Seriously? The Sedins have out produced Getzlaf and Perry easily over the last 4 years. Won more personal trophies but only a couple years older. Getzlaf and Perry signed for an average of 8.3 mill roughly in a city they like. If the Sedins take anything less than 7 per over 5 years Van is getting a huge discount. A 5 year deal takes them to about the same age. You're looking at the wrong comparables in my opinion.

I would gladly swap the Sedins for Perry and Getz even at 8 mil . Both are all around players and bring toughness and grit. If the Sedins played that style no one would be questioning their worth.
