Those crazy nut jobs in Germany would of never got to power if the morons who won world war 1 didn't (frank) their country over so bad with the treaty of versailles.

You starve a whole country to death and they'll follow just about anyone who will promise them food.

Not to get off topic though

He was worth more than just a first round pick, come on, 3 analysts at the draft said NJ made a steal
- puckhead17

Again. What goalies have gone for more the last 5 years?

Washington got the 11th overall in weaker draft, and a conditional 2nd that was traded to Dallas.

I'll take a top10 pick in a supposedly deeper draft over that.

I think he could have gotten a bit more, but his hands were tied, he basically had to trade one of them, and nobody wanted to give up assets for Luongo.

It wasn't a great trade, but it wasn't horrible either.

Interestingly, some of the Allies, such as the British, were not much in favor of the treaty. The French wanted the harshest impositions of all. Basically, they acted like greedy little female doges, and were among the first to get Reichslapped during the Blitzkreig.

(frank)ing love WW2 history.

it is amazing stuff. It's hard to fathom something that horrific actually happened in real life on such a large scale. History is bound to repeat itself. Just hopefully not in my lifetime or any of our kids.

All joking aside I think homer is an idiot given his depth down the middle for not doing a Coutourier/Vorecek/b Schenn and their 11th for Schneider and 24 or hansen

Us having to start over honestly wouldn't be that bad of an idea the way we are going. The planet could use a break. It reminds me of this sketch from Louis C.K

I was all for moving Courturier, for either a young goalie like him, or a similar type of D man, that's the way the flyers are, 6 centers for 3 lines, 3 out of position, & why can't they play wing?

We also have Laughton, where will he play?

And I don't even want to think about the "Vinny" contract, I'm not happy about it

ya how the hell did Van not get a proven young centerman from a team dying for a goalie like Philly......... weird.

Actually, not proven but high potential I guess I'll say

Reminds me of back when we had Lindros & Brind'Amour Leclair & Renberg, & Clarke had to HAVE Chris Gratton, moving Renberg for Gratton, then we had only one scoring winger (Leclair) & 3 top 6 centers, Lindros, Brind'Amour & Gratton, they forced Gratton to the wing, (oh no what happened, he can't play anymore?)
No he's another center thats what happened.

3 years ago we had Briere, Giroux, Carter Richards - 4 top ceters for 2 lines, none of those guys were as effective as wingers
