That relates to one player. And again, if it's understood on what the Cap is about, is creating an equal playing field, and limiting player salaries. And preventing a team like the Flyers who have a large financial backing behind them, from just signing whoever they want. That's what the Cap is all about, and what it's supposed to do. You can't sign everybody!
Again, the fact that Cleary decided to go elsewhere, for less money then the Flyers were offering, does not point to the Flyers having a salary cap issue. If they did, how were they able to commit to a deal in principle with Cleary, for 2.75M a year, when they , as you say, have a Cap problem, and are over the Cap?

If you want to discuss the facts, I'm game. If you want to throw darts, not interested.

So what your saying is, the CAP is the NHL's version of Communism? And you're the CAP expert. I have a buddy in the NSA that has a few questions for you....

Ah and thank you for finally revealing who you really are... Joe Friday right? Just the fact ma'am....

This, however, does make me slightly happy. From the Pittsburgh blog:

"Fleury's start to camp included giving up 3 goals on his first 3 shots, one of which was an own goal like the ones he has been giving up in the playoffs. Further damning Fleury was that the first two goals were scored by Tanner Glass and Craig Adams, not good. "

and in other news, water is still wet.

he can just blame the new reduced pad height. it's always the gear's fault.

We're a huge pet family. We currently have 4 dogs that run the house. My son, my wife and I couldn't love them any more and prefer them over most of the people we know. We buy furniture with them in mind. There's not a single chair in our living room or Family room because they don't accommodate a person and a dog at the same time.

I have to say he pleasantly surprised me when he was called up. He really looked like an NHL player in his stint. I hope his injury doesn't deter him. You have reason to worry when a guy gets his face crushed like that.

Agreed. When I heard McGinn would be getting considered at the camp that never happened last year, my initial thought was, "I think I traded him in NHL 13 about 2 weeks ago." But when he came up, he didn't seem out of place at all, and was one of the few bright spots last year.

There isn't a single link that I've ignored. I know the fish inside out, and exactly how it smells. In fact it's the opposite. I've considered all the links involving the fish. And more importanly, I can support my statements and back it up.

I refused to discuss facts with someone totally enamoured of ignoring the ones he doesn't like.

Consider the conversation over and yourself delusional.

Of course it is. I had top-pair NHL HOF defense skills, I just could never find a comfortable pair of socks.

Yeah tough getting your orbital bone crushed first serious fight out.
I hope it doesn't impact him either. Hopefully he's had enough heal time it won't be a factor.
I liked him...

Short answer: "Yes" with an "If," long answer: "No" with a "But."

Well, I guess you're right. For a few reasons I don't really want to get into, my grandmother and I became very estranged the last few years before she passed away earlier this year. I mean, I loved her, but she kind of just became a woman that I was friendly with on the rare occasions we saw each other. Losing my parents' cat hit me a lot harder than when she passed.

Do you think creative spending to the very limit of the salary cap is ok? (insert blood from rock analogy)
If yes - there is no cap problem
If no - there is a cap problem

You ok? thought you might be hyperventilating or something.

So what they are saying is technically, with the current roster if the season started tomorrow we would be over the Cap. But with some facny footwork and some tough decisions, they should be able to get under the Cap before the season starts. But no matter what they do, they will not have a lot of room under the Cap without making some major changes?

Did I get this right?

No, that is not technically correct. It's impossible for the Flyers to have the current roster if the Season started tommorrow. That's the whole point.

Thats funny. Sometimes it comes through as Dustin Hoffman from a movie he did with Tom Cruise, and other times it sounds like Gilbert Gottfried.
