good luck with that. Talk to Mason Raymond about what a decent year gets you.
That Gordon deal comes with the standard 35% overpayment Oilers tax. - IanEsplen
Lol...maybe so. It was a ridiculous contract, no doubt.
I'm not saying Morrow is worth it, just maybe how he sees things. It also might be a case where a veteran guy doesn't see the point in signing immediately just so he can go through a training camp with 20 year olds trying to run you through the boards to impress a coach. |

I don't foresee anyone else getting a contract offer from Gillis; the guys that are in camp will fight it out for the available spots. |

For his leadership and checking he would be a good add. Just can't see Vancouver finding a space for him. If he would sign cheap and play on the fourth possibly, but not sure if he has the speed to play for you guys. |

Rather wait and see who hits waivers.
Jim O'Brian from the Sens would be a nice cheap bottom6 C/W addition if he made it to the Canucks.
Ottawa doesn't have room for him and Melnyk is cheap. |

Booth makes himself obsolete.
I can't imagine him staying healthy this season, it's just not in the cards for him. - Scooby_Doo
People have said the same thing about many "injury prone" guys who have then gone and rattled off healthy season after healthy season. I think Torts eases him into camp slowly, he's 100% ready to go by the start of the season and he has a great year. He should fit very well into Torts' system. |

He has the speed to play on our 4th line and fill in on the 3rd line when guys go down with injury. Unlikely that's the role he wants to fill at this point. |

Fair enough. He likely wants too much money as well. |

I think it's more of a situation where the Canucks will wait and see what transpires in pre-season before making the call of adding or subtracting anyone. There are a number of unknowns with how well the young guys will play at the NHL level and there's always the possibility of someone going down injured.
I'm not sure if Morrow would accept a camp invite on PTO but if I'm MG I'd certainly offer him one.
Sedin-Sedin-Kassian
Burrows-Kesler-Hansen
Booth-Schroeder-Higgins
Sestito-Richardson-Santorelli
In my eyes it's pretty simple. If the above team is what we have rolling out of camp then Morrow absolutely has a spot on that top 9. If one of Jensen, Gaunce, Horvat, or Shinkaruk make the team it's an either or scenario. If 2 make the team full time and there are no pre-season injuries then there's no room for Morrow. |

6.5m over 7 years is about what was expected I think. Although RFAs never have much leverage, the situation is quite different when your #1 D man now and for the future is involved. |

3d line center is still in the air . If Horvat or Gaunce don't grab it then Gillis may wait till teams unload.
